You should always bear in mind that I'm looking at things from a non-Competitive (and typically Triple Battle) perspective, though.
(Not to mention that I don't have Gen 8 yet.)
In Gen 6 (and 7, for that matter), a Primordial Sea based Team is WAY better than any Sandstorm Team, and although IDK precisely what you mean, I'd certainly not describe Mega Swampert as "broken".
(And I thought it didn't exist in Gen 8, anyway.)
And yeah, lol, sorry about that.
(I do that a lot, don't I?)

That's true, but I'd certainly say it's the best Weather-based Strategy for Gen 6 Triples.
(Not than anyone here besides me is into those, lol!)
And yeah, Rain is definitely the best (I just checked the results of your Poll, lol), especially with Swift Swim and Hydration being around now.
(I liked it even in Gen 2, when all it did was boost Water-type Moves and help Thunder, lol!)
And the reason why is because of the pattern.
In Gen 5, they did 2 Games in a new Region, and then 2 improved versions of them.
(In that case, they actually made them Sequels.)
In Gen 6, they did 2 Games in a new Region, and then 2 Remakes.
In Gen 7, they did 2 Games in a new Region, and then 2 improved versions of them, so the logical conclusion is that after these 2 Games in a new Region, they would do the next Remakes, which would be the Sinnoh ones.
This is different than the old pattern, though, which was 2 regular Games in a new Region (including Red and Blue, because Kanto was new at the time, lol), followed by a
single improved version
(Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum), with Remakes being introduced either after the initial 2 Games (Gen 3), or after the 3rd Game (Gen 4).
They really surprised me with how the handled Kyurem's Game(s) in Gen 5, by making it 2 different Games (with 2 different Kyurems, too), but it
seems
as though this new pattern has been sticking.
BTW, I kinda view the "Let's Go!" Games as Remakes of FR/LG (which we were arguably due for, since they remade R/S/E already) even though they aren't really.
And lol, I'm probably boring you to death with all of this.
(Sorry.)

You should've included Strong Winds/Delta Stream in
your Poll
, lol!
Seriously though, I've been using Rain since Gen 2, so as much as I'm into any Weather based strategy, I'd say that that's my favorite.
(Besides Delta Stream, of course.)
BTW, here's a prediction:
The next Pokémon Games released will be the Sinnoh Remakes, and with them will be the re-introduction of the Deep Fog Weather Condition from Gen 4.
(I suspect they may do some interesting things with it, too, although I'm not sure what.)
