Perhaps this might interest you. In short, there's a very small percent of humans immune to HIV due to a mutation in the CCR5 gene. CCR5 is a DNA code for white blood cells' receptors or "doors" that allows HIV to get in the first place. A mutated CCR5 (known as CCR5 Delta 32) is basically like a door with a permanently broken lock that you can never unlock.

If you can, go on Youtube and look up CRISPR. Try to put these two pieces together.
