Well the tournament will likely happen at an incredibly slow pace over the course of several months (like last year's one did), so if/when you remember your username, the scheduling thing shouldn't be an issue.
(Assuming you'll have any free time for a few matches anytime within the next 6 months or so, anyway.)

My Pokemon UM Update : I just re-restarted my game because i wanted to progess with you! So I took Rowlet (GRASS STARTER SUPREMACY.) and I saved Nebby (that name is so cute, i'm so going to rename my Lunala like that later~) and blablabla Pokedex, blablabla Z-Crystal, blablabla-
