Ok...a jewelry box is just a decorated shoebox. You could cut cardboard hooks and shelves and tape them in there, too. For dad...um... ... ...ooo yea a cup coaster! Cut a circle piece of cardboard out to fit the bottom of a cup. Then decorate it with penicls, markers, or crayons, but no paper or else it'll get soggy if water spills on it.
