I'm sorry I couldn't be there for you to hug you again, or sit out and watch the stars on a blanket in your backyard like we use to do when we were kids and talk for hours about the stupidist things and we'd laugh so hard we cried. I'm sorry about punching you and making you cry when I was five because you threw my plastic toy rake in the campfire and it melted. I'm sorry about the time when I accidentally ripped your favorite jacket when we both tried to fit in it. I'm sorry I couldn't stop them from taking you away from here when your mom died. I'm sorry about not being able to stop your aunt and uncle from hurting you when they were supposed to be the ones taking care of you. I'm sorry that I couldn't go to California to see you for the first time since I was 7 because my parents wouldn't let me. I'm sorry for everything.. Dammit, we were the last ones. At least you'll get to see everyone again. Tell them that your little sister said hi, and that we can hang out some day once again.. And that I'll never, ever forget any of the best friends I've ever had. I'm sorry for not being able to stop you the last time you called me. I wish it wasn't the last time I ever heard you speak to me.. Funny thing is, remember the time you called me when I was in school, and you got me a detention because my phone rang, even though I sent you to voicemail? Yeah, I still have that message saved on my phone. It was you ranting on for 20 minutes about how you finally got a kitten and you didn't know what to name her.. I have that locked on there now, you know. I'll literally never delete it.. God, I'm so sorry, Cole.. I love you, so much. I'm gonna miss you.. Sweet dreams, big brother..
