Get a DSi, and paint it to make it look like a 3DS
Tell him you dropped it
Tell him that your house got robbed, and nothing was taken. ... Apart from his 3DS
Buy another for him.
Run outside, grab the pieces, glue it back together... TADA!! Good as new.
