Website Plans for 2011

Another year has come and gone. That means we have before us a new year with some big projects. I would like to go over some of the plans for this collection of websites then see what everyone else would like to see. Be aware that this list only includes big projects, not minor interface tweaks or bug fixes.



DSiPaint
DSiPaint Apps
Both DSiPaint and Spriter have many updates remaining, such as naming and tagging artwork.

Games
The game Risky is still coming whenever I get a chance to develop it. The final release will probably be on 3DSPaint.com, too. It may also see a release for WiiOperaSDK. Risky will be a multi-player turn-based game, like the board game Risk, that lets players take on the roles of Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, and Apple. The "armies" compete for a monopoly on 3 flagship products in all stores across a city.

Game Shows
The new game show app is still coming. A host will run the game with 3 active contestants and unlimited spectators. All involved parties will represent themselves with Saviis.

The Mystical Journey
TMJ will have at least two more demos for the Nintendo DSi. The first will be a cinema sequence for part of the story in Chapter 1, presented in similar manner to the intro of LoZ: The Wind Waker. The second demo will be another presented in the manner of Teaser 3.

Saviis
Saviis contests are still coming. They will be similar to the Check Mii Out Channel on the Wii. Also, editing of Saviis was partially done but never completed. That is still coming.

Surveys
The weekly surveys will be placed into an app that Survey Admins help to moderate since I am running out of ideas.



3DSPaint
As many of you know, I started working on 3DSPaint.com a little while back. It was nothing more than an exact copy of DSiPaint.com with a few different stylesheets.

This weekend I have begun working more on the website to bring it to the final form for late March. Graphics are the first step I am taking since many of the core features will be unchanged from DSiPaint.com at the moment (until I know the capabilities of the 3DS browser). 3DS Opera SDK
I will hunt down all the features of the browser and place them into a nice set of JavaScript tools. Expect many of the Wii Opera SDK tools to be ported to the browser, included raycasting, texture-mapping, and more. If 3D exists in any form, I will add it.

3DSPaint App
Everything from the DSiPaint app is coming to 3DSPaint. Plus, I will add editing, filters, copy-and-paste, and many other modern features of paint programs.

Ov3rLorDS
Come on, you knew a sequel was inevitable. More details will come soon.

The Mystical Journey
The final game will be released on the new browser. The release date is unknown. If you want to be part of the team, let me know. We're starting to ramp up production again. I will be designing the final game engine later this month, scrapping the DSi one. Once the Nintendo 3DS comes out, I will tweak it for speed and capabilities. I plan to make the entire engine canvas-based, which will allow zooming, rotation, parallax scrolling, and more!



TWiiter
I don't currently know the emailing capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS. If it can email like the Wii, then I will set up an account link to "twiit" directly from email like you can do on the Wii. Otherwise, it will be similar to the Nintendo DSi (which it will support, anyways). I plan to add other enhancements to the website, too, that the Nintendo DSi Browser was too slow to handle.



HullBreach Online
There will be a Nintendo 3DS version of HB Online Lite. The version will be more in appearance to the Wii version with canvas-based graphics and real-time display of other players.



Wii Opera SDK
Wii Opera SDK used to be my most updated Nintendo-related website until DSiPaint exploded beyond all expectations. Thus, Wii Opera SDK has been left in the dust at times. I do plan on bringing some of the interface more up-to-speed with DSiPaint on the website, including real-time status updates and more.

Survey App
The new survey app will be added to the website, as with the others.

The 3DS uses the Netfront browser.

you should make a extision area like if you go to dsiplazza then click extinsions then sand box it comes up with a thing that helps make a extision with buttens then you could save and up load then and download them

Why don't they just add the new browser to the store, so that dsi users can still use a better browser?
Ideas(If possible):
•SDK Music Station: Songs added by upload or request, to listen to on new browser (if capable).
•SDK Theater sounds great (if capable)!
•Chat Rooms that have Saviis walk around a room, etc. and interact.

cool i am think about getting the 3DS but i guess this means you're going to shut down dsipaint. but do you really think i can do this on my mac? i would really like to do this if i can do that. also you should do the TMJ. make the graphics better make are savii look 3D. i would like to have all painting in 3D. the should have some sound to it. here are some idea i got. for the painting we should have comments on it. like what we do on flipnote. you should make games and put you're savii in like wii. you know the mii you make. you should put you're own dsitube like youtube. if we where to link some videos to youtube. and put it to dsitube. i am think about making real blogs like have you ever heard one of those blogs that looks like a website. that would be great. i would like to put some online games on there and earn points. and what we can do with it is spend it on games. and if you want we should use are credit cards and bye points. we should make are own chat rooms. put are own images on are chat rooms. those are all of the idea i have. just let me know what you think of those idea.

A good idea would be a Real time Status message, where we put the message we want and our friends or everyone (option enabled/disabled ?) Can see it, and it updates everywhere in the site undepending of the need to refresh

Lol, i have plenty of ideas, most of them are crazy and complex, anyway...i am a idea maker, just tell me if you need anything

We could have a enhaced e-mail system, this would take too much time to make, i guess, and Daniel would most likely have to wait until the 3ds release to begin working on it, Heres my suggestions for a possible future enhanced SDK Mail app.

Like a email editor (sender) with multiple functional tabs like this:

{write}{multiple receivers}{friendcode exchanger}{multiple tagging}

{
}

• Writer = Write, of course

•Multiple receivers = Display your full friendlist (showing onlines and offlines) with boxes to mark, each box marked = 1 receiver added

•FriendCode exchanger = Display your full games list with your recorded friendcodes with mark boxes, a box marked = Friend code add to the message (with the possibility of moving it to the right place, if needed)

• Multiple Tagging = Automatically add tags and/or display full tags list


And of course, any functional ttabs ideas from other members...

Email: Inbox


Possibility of recording your messages in folders by day-month-year, and/or sender name, and/or specific folder

and a "search" app



another nice idea for 3DSPaint,
for Friend Added people, You can see multiple options in small icons everywhere in the site like, in comments, blogs, twiits, small icons like {message} {status} (and for non-added people too) {rate up/down this comment/blog}

With the nintendo 3DS Browser advantage, the {message} icon display a simple message without sendingthe user to another page, and {status} show a mini "Friend activity log" only for the person you clicked, showing in real time: Online/offline - Status Message - location or {private} - etc...

AWWW MAN!! But then, if DSiPaint goes to the dust with 3DSpaint.com existing, then what am I gonna do? Actually, I don't think 3DSpaint will be popular, it really depends on the price. If the rumor is true and the 3DS will cost $1,000.00, then yes, 3DSpaint might just be unpopular, because not many people would afford it.

i think that there should be "themes" like we can change the default view of every page. prehaps a high contrast, or space theme.
