Badges Finally Explained

I've purposely kept quiet on badges for the past few weeks until and felt enough of them were in place (and because I enjoy hearing everyone guess about them). Now, I am breaking that silence!

Once earned, badges will not be lost (unless fraud is discovered). For example, you may pass the threshold for earning the badge but fall below it. The badge will remain.

There are three classes of badges, two of which have already been implemented, leaving one unannounced class of badges. I will go over each badge in those classes below and how they are earned...





Regular

There are 8 levels of these badges, starting with the badge itself, then 6 levels of silver stars, and a final gold star. I provide requirements for the badges with their descriptions...


Artist

The Artist badge depends on the number of active paintings.
5 / 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000


Author

The Author badge depends on the number of active blogs.
5 / 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000


Courier

The Courier badge depends on the number of messages read and not deleted by the recipient.
50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000 / 2500 / 5000 / 10000


Digitizer

The Digitizer badge depends on the number of active sprites.
1 / 3 / 7 / 15 / 25 / 50 / 75 / 100


Poster

The Poster badge depends on the number of active bulletin board posts from active threads.
5 / 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000


Socialite

The Socialite badge depends on the number of active profile comments posted on other members.
5 / 10 / 25 / 50 / 100 / 250 / 500 / 1000


There are other badges still coming in this class, including Auctioneer, Gluer, Stylist, and Publisher.





Special

The special class of badges have just one level. At the moment, they all tie to game achievements.


Minco Says

Surpass 500 points.


OverlorDS

Reach overlord status.


Wak-a-Skunk

Surpass 500 points.


Yortzee

Surpass 300 points.





Awarded


These badges are currently not available, but I have discussed the prospects of them with admins. Such badges would be awardable by admins at their own discretion with a limit of one per month. Examples may include "Member of the Month", "Savii Contest Winner", etc. Multiple winnings would compound the badge to earn stars on it.

Not trying to be rude, but capitalize the 'n' in not, put a comma after 'anything', 'its' is refering to 'it is', so that needs an apostrophe, and a period at the end. Don't point out other people's grammar mistakes if you yourself, in fact, have grammar errors.

People shouldn't be crying about how you need 10000 messages and 1000 blogs. Getting a gold star for a badge is supposed to be extremely difficult and a great accomplishment.

I've noticed, my Courier Badge keeps fluctuating it's Level between 3 and 4. This is only happening because my recipients *cougcough* keep deleting the messages after reading. Bear that in mind.

I've no problem with achieving Courier, if anything, I'm surprised I didn't have that many. I rarely delete any mail.[even HD & SaviiBot messages.]

And 5,000 emails would fit good as well.

But as Star Shadow stated i miss having how many posts/paints etc i have...because i can keep the track of it..

Admin badges will be awesome,

Hull please note

Month badges could be by year, like "Member of the Month 2011(2)-2012(3)..etc.." and so on earning stars for it...until it reaches gold, but stick with the (3) times.. (4) times by year.

Like this:

Lets suppose Hullbreach got the member of the month badge twice in 2011 and 3 times in 2012, it will show like this:

Member Of the Month 2011(2) - 2012 (1)

I guess the member of the month badge should be awarded only by Overlords, and member of the year also! With a similar star level but harder to get of course, like

Member of the year (2011-2012-2013..etc)

These 2 super rare special badges could have a link leading the "clicker" to a page where he can see the reason written by the awarder of why he/she got the badge on that month/year, like an honor note.

Please take in consideration, this would be beautiful to see.

Seriously though, great info. Everyone's been taking stabs in the dark about the badges. But now that people know the figures, we can expect that the mods will have a lot of work on their hands. My backlog of blogs has got to be a page long.
