I checked the chatrooms this morning and noticed that no one was in them. I thought it was kind of strange since there's never a time in a 24 hour period where all the chatrooms are empty. Thus, I investigated.
For the technical people in the audience: The database table that stores the chatroom posts uses a 32-bit unsigned integer as the primary key. This means it can handle just over 4 billion (9 zeros) posts. That limit had been reached.
So, we have reached another milestone (as we did when the paintings hit the 65535 limit). I've reset the chatroom post count to 1.
Recently I have been in the chatrooms for a minimum 4+hours everyday and have seen 0 people on twice. 2 days ago I saw 49 people on chat though (around afternoon) so the number of people gets fairly high
I happen to refresh continuesly to be the first one to say something in the chat after the site downtime, but I had to go 10 minutes before you reset it. I'll let you have this 1st post count after the 4 billion made, the next one is mine! Just you wait
