Hey guys, Smalls here. As a resident of Alabama, I feel obliged to post about what is going on in the South right now. If you don't want to read this, don't.
To start things off, this season has been fierce. Not just a few tornadoes here and there, but literally 100s of tornadoes have been spotted this season. One went through my old street, where my parents live right now, in North Carolina two weeks ago... Thank goodness everything was just minor damage in that town. Elsewhere in North Carolina... up to 44 people had been killed over that storm.
Today, there was one huge devastating tornado that hit Tuscaloosa, Alabama, killing nearly 32 people and destroying most of the town. If you were wondering, Tuscaloosa, AL is the hometown of the University of Alabama. According to many sources, the tornado was an F5 tornado. An F5 tornado is categorized as the most powerful tornado.
The storm is expected to move up the east coast tonight and tomorrow. The storms have no passed through my area in Alabama, so nothing has happened here yet.
i was in that storm (in east tennessee) we got hit pretty hard. tornados in countys all around us, tornado warning non-stop all night, spending the night in the basement. it was kinda scary. we were driving home after church and we got pelted with golfball sized hail. luckly no one in my area was hurt, and we had no tornados in my town. please pray for us people down south. in all theres over 220 deaths
Well global warming is causing more natural disasters.. makes me glad I live in NB, Canada, nothing worse than snow or ice storms here.. although those can be pretty bad but you can generally avoid them easier.
I remember hearing one tornado was a mile wide and took out several city blocks, may've been the one in Tuscaloosa. Its pretty bad in Mississippi as well. I've several small towns have been wiped out.
There was a tornado watch were I live, and we rarely get them. I live near New England. And then my school flooded... I'm having pretty good weather too, huh?
