"But you were gifted with these powers for a reason," Raxnent said.
"Yeah, and that reason was to confirm that their chemical worked," Jezzroy pointed out. "I have a feeling we're going to need help."
"Why?" Cassie asked.
"We need to find the Chaos Emeralds," Jezzroy replied. "There was no antidote developed against this stuff, so they're the only things that can cure me."
"Let's get to it, then," Raxnent said.
The trio exited the McDonalds and almost ran into a group of Tesla troopers.
"You are under arrest!" one of the troopers said.
"Am I? Not last I looked!" Jezzroy retorted, and started energizing a psionic beam attack.
Just as the troopers readied their arm-mounted Tesla coils, a blur of black smashed into one of them, disorienting the others. The black figure then dispatched the 6 troopers with a red energy spear.
"Shadow," Jezzroy said without surprise.
Shadow the Hedgehog then turned to look at the group.
"What are you kids doing here? It's dangerous!" he growled.
"Since when have Soviets invaded us successfully, without military interference?" Raxnent asked.
Shadow snorted. "What do you think I am?"
"Military interference," Jezzroy said quickly, before Raxnent could say anything stupid. "What's G.U.N. doing in this battle?"
"Investigating while keeping the world safe from enemy troops," Shadow replied, then narrowed his eyes at Jezzroy. "Hey... Aren't you that kid gumshoe from Alaska?"
"Yes, and I'm Chaos Emerald hunting right now," Jezzroy said. "I'm not well, and they're the only cure I know of."
"Hmm..." Shadow was thinking now.
"We would like you to join us." Cassie said.
"Well... fine," Shadow said in resignation. "You're going to need all of the help you can get. I'm with you."
