The Nintendo [color=red]4[/color]DS

At the E3 2011, Nintendo revealed what could, quite possibly, be the most revolutionary leap in the gaming and dodo industry. Not many people have spoken about this, outshadowed as it was by the "Wii-U," so I have taken it upon myself to catalogue the features of the exciting new handheld console:



That's right, the Nintendo 4DS takes all the previous features of your favourite 3D console, and modifies them for the fourth dimension: TIME.



The Nintendo 4DS features all the same functions as the 3DS.

-Dual outside cameras for taking 3D photographs.

-A stereoscopic top screen for viewing 3D images.

-The built in applications, including the Mii channel, shopping channel and the all new "Flipnote 4D."

However, it also brings forward some exciting new additions:

-As well as an internal gyroscope and accelerometer, it now contains an internal metronome (for keeping track of timeflow) and an internal universally constant digital clock system (for determining time and date from any temporal period)

-The most exciting feature, in my opinion, is the 4DS's limited ability to utilise and manipulate the fourth dimension, time. It has a basic time-travel device, allowing utilisation of the newest hardware addition, the 4D slider.
On the 4DS menu itself, you can set a scale within which the slider will respond, i.e. top of the slider = five minutes forward, bottom of the slider = five minutes ago.
I would not recommend setting this range too high, else it may lead to difficulty in precisely choosing your desired time.

-The ability to take 4D pictures, you can take a picture of a scene or a person, and utilising the slider, you can see exactly what the scene you are viewing will look/has looked in the future/past.

-The 4Ds boasts a whopping 5GB of RAM, which easily trumps my computer .

-And yes, THE MOST EXCITING FEATURE- ITS BROWSER WILL SUPPORT FLASH.

The only confirmed colour for the 4DS is "Neon Purple." (I thought this was slightly stupid, since neon isn't purple, but meh)

I, for one, am looking forward to playing OoT 4D, which will be likely more immersive than ever, with real travelling through time when you pluck out our master-sword XD.

yea, i did reserch, after my third post, you would get more noobs to believe it if u did it the 3d4d movie (i did say that that 4d wasnt the real one in my 4th post i think around there) and whent with feel(again i did say that its not the real dimension) because time travel would require a divise 2000 times bigger(exageration really 100Xbigger)then your pocket

Link, "TRAVELS DIMENSIONS"?! For starters, yo probably have a COMPLETELY warped view of the definition of dimension, PLUS time is the 4th dimension, therefore the 4DS will travel in four dimensions at will! Is that not enough for you?

Ultra- Good luck with that. They may have a time machine, but the 4DS doesn't have a "timey-wimey" gear, an important piece for any TARDIS!.

@epicartifex i didnt mean touch as in the touch screen i was talking about touch as in feel. if they were to make a 4ds they would make it like a 3d4d movie not time, time travel is impossible with a machine that fits in a pocket.(sorry kids that thought this was real)

Link248, no, that's merely a colloquial use in the *media idiolect, it isn't in any way a globally recognised definition. Plus, the very first DS had touch, they aren't going to call a new ds console the 4DS because it has touch, so clearly you're wrong on that front -.-

ok, i found this out. when talking about a midea (like movie or say videogame systems) the 4th dimension is touch. in real life its time. if they were to make a 4ds it would be the midea 4d, not the real life 4d.

Tehjew, sorta. 1D means it has only width or height. Naturally anything 1D wouldn't be possible for a human to see. We exist to be 3D, and evrything we can physically see is also 3D, no matter how seemingly flat or thin.

The fourth dimension is time. Seriously, it is. Those supposed "4D" movies aren't even 3D, let alone 4D, it's just an illusion.
Since the thing you can feel or touch exists in 3D space, (or 4D timespace if you want to be nitpicking) it hasn't gone into any other dimensions.

Also, time is the fourth dimension. The other 7 are things we can't really understand very well, but time, we know a bit more about.

i dont think the fourth dimention is time, i think it is something we cant possibly understand because we only see in 3d. another thing,time travel would be dangerous, what if you time travel to 6 months ago? well, guess what, the earth was on the other side of the solar system 6 months ago, so now you are floating in space!

But I think some people are getting a little muddled between senses and dimensions.
Touch and smell are not dimensions, they're senses, electrical signals.
Sound is NOT a dimension, it's physical vibration of molecules which is interpreted by our ears as a sound.
Also, There are several dimensions, only three/four of which humans are naturally capable of comprehending. Width, height and depth are the first three. When combined with the 4th, time, they create 4D, timespace. With timespace it is possible to record both an object's location and the time at which it is there.
