In case most of you don't know, the U.S. Supreme Court just today, announced in a 7-2 vote that video games are protected under the First Amendment. Why did they need to vote? Because parents obviously don't understand that they control what their kid has access to. Instead of saying "No Little Tim, you CAN'T get CoD: MW3, you're only a Fetus", they decide to go "RABBLE RABBLE RABBLE, LET'S BAN M-GAMES BEING SOLD FOR MINORS IN CALIFORNIA SINCE WE CAN'T BOTHER TO SAY 'NO' TO OUR OWN KIDS." They are being "Non-Parents", to quote one of the people commenting on the article. They mindlessly buy these games for their children, without consulting to find out that "M"_Rated games are generally bloody and for more mature gamers. Instead, they do the above.
'"Like protected books, plays, and movies, [video games] communicate ideas through familiar literary devices and features distinctive to the medium. And 'the basic principles of freedom of speech . . . do not vary' with a new and different communication medium," said the court.

Thank you, Supreme Court. Now, the funny thing is, why try and ban M-Rated games? Our rating system is perfectly good on its own merits, and if the parents of such children KNEW what they were buying for their kids, we could avoid such complications. But no, we're in the U.S., so we can't do anything logical...
The point is, I'm glad that this proposed ban was overruled, as it's the parents' fault for not looking at that little white box with the Capital letter inside of it. -.-

Violent games make people aggrivated? I don't know.. I tend to get more aggrivated in competitive games (racing.. mario party o.e) or puzzle-y games or something.. When I play violent games I seem to be more laid back because they're just fun..? I don't know how to explain it. I'd only get "aggrivated" if I was stuck at a certain part for a while and couldn't get past it.
Ban, of course not. I don't think that running outside in the nude, then proceeding to crap in a public park and library can be protected by the First Amendment. Only HOBOS get that right. XDD
Yes, parents today... What's ironic is, my Mom once said "Whoa. this game looks pretty damn cool!" And guess what it was? Resident Evil IV. I was like "... No, no thanks. o3o'" She thought it'd be fun, though. XD
The case against video games was bound to fail from the beginning. They even attempted to use the original Super Mario Bros. game as a case of violence in games, and progressed onward to others.
It was a hollow argument honestly.
Ugh, this is something the fox "news" people were saying once >.> they were going on about how video games were bad, etc with pathetic arguments that weren't even true. >.>
I hate it when people complain about things they have complete control over doing or not.. Wanting to ban M-rated games because they aren't kid-friendly is ridiculous! THAT'S WHY THEY'RE RATED M. I can't even comprehend what these parents are thinking. I guess we'd better get rid of all movies above a G rating, adult books, and about 80% of the internet. Besides, most kids have seen these things by about the age of 10 or so, unless they are very sheltered. Parents would be shocked if they knew how unaware they were of what their kids know already.
One year in my elementary school they made a rule saying you couldn't draw stick figures fighting/with weapons or anything or you'd get in trouble >.> good grief. OHEMGEE MY KID DREW A STICK FIGURE FIGHT, HE'S GOING TO BE A SERIAL KILLER!
I laughed at the fetus part ;p
