Bah, I haven't written a blog in a while....Cheers!
So today, I shall reveal upon you all the addicting game of Team Fortress 2. Most commonly know to be (for free, I believe) on Steam, which is a Computer Game Library. But, it is also for the Xbox 360. TF2 mainly revolves around Online Mulitiplayer, but the computer version does include Single Player. I will be reviewing this as it is on the Xbox Version, so please don't complain if I missed some facts that take place on the Steam version.
Gameplay consists of you choosing one class from a slection of nine:
-Soldier: The Battle-Ready Soldier comes equipped with a Rocket Launcher, a Shotgun, and a Shovel. Soldiers are mainly used for offense, since it's fairly easy to blast any opponent to bits with your RL. You can also jump to great heights by jumping, and shooting a rocket below you.
-Pyro: One of the more dramatic classes, the Pyro comes with a Flamethrower, a shotgun, and an axe. The Flamethrower shoots at very short range, and enflames enemies instantly. But be careful, it is easy to die if an enemy is far away from you. Use preferably if your playing in an indoor level.
-Scout: The fastest class there is, the Scout has a [special] shotgun, a pistol, and a metal Baseball Bat. The Scout is also the only class that can double jump! The Scout can capture Control Points twice as fast as any other class, too! But with only 150 HP, your life may be cut short if you misuse this class.
-Sniper: As if you couldn't already guess, the Sniper is very effective at long ranges. The Sniper has a Sniper Rifle, a machine gun pistol, and a machette. When you scope with the rifle, the longer you stay scoped, the more powerful your shot will become. A Sniper and a Scout can overcome many enemies in tandem.
-Medic: The most potentially powerful class there is, the Medic's main job is to heal team-mates. He spawns with a Health Dispencer Gun, A Needle Gun, and an Amputator. The HDG heals team-mates when you aim at the team-mate and pull the trigger. As you heal, your ÜberCharge gets filled up slowly. ÜberCharge allows you and one other ally to become invincible for a good 10-15 seconds. Healing hurt allies fills up this ability faster. Oh, and when healing, you can have a team-mates health go over it's capacity for a decent amount of time! And, when the Medic is hurt, your health regenerates automatically.
-Spy: One of the most favorite classes of all, the Spy is a tough class to master. His arsenal includes an Electro-Sapper, a special knife, a Disguise Kit, and a Revolver. Whn using the Disguise Kit, you can disguise yourself as any enemy class! For example, if I was a Blue Spy, I could make myself look like a Red Medic to the Red Team! But, it's easy for yourself to be discovered. Players get suspicious if you run toward them, don't shoot, or don't remember seeing you before. Along with the DK, you can invisibly cloak yourself for a short amount of time. Your Electro-Sapper kills Turrets and Dispencers over time. Your knife one hit KO's and opponent ONLY if you stab them in the back.
-Demoman:The Demoman is more of a defensive class. He comes with a grenade launcher, a Mine Shooter, and a broken beer bottle. Whenever you shoot Mines, the alternate shooting button detonates them, and blasts enemies away. Pretty useful for a CP match.
-Heavy: The most loved class, The Heavy has the most health of all. He is equipped with a Minigun, a Shotgun, and his Fists. Though he may be really slow, his minigun can dominate multiple enemies at once!
-Engineer: The Engineer is the most defensive class. He has a Shotgun, a Pistol, a Wrench, and BluePrints. Your BluePrints can build four objects: A Turret, a Ammo/Health Dispencer, a Teleport Entrance, and a Teleport Exit. Your wrench holds metal, and with it you build these buildings. The turret can be leveled up two times if you hit it with the wrench enough times that it gives the turret 200 metal each level. One turret/Dispencer/Teleporter per Engineer.
There are many different game modes. There are 3 variations of capture the Control Point, and CTF. Each battle you must use different strategies with different classes to win. This game also has lots of humor. Each class comes with 3 taunts, one for each weapon. All of which are amusing.
But every game comes with it's downfalls. A moderate amount of hackers that frequent TF2. I once saw a flying Soldier that could shoot while he taunted. And TF2 causes lots of /raegquits. Icalways find myself smashing my controller because a Spy killed me for the fourth time in a row. And another thing, sometimes the damage modifiers are way off. Apparently I hit someone with a shotgun 8 times a point blank, whilst my enemy kills me with only one melee shot.
Graphics are cartoony, just the way I like it. Gives it a casual, humorous feel to the game. You'll often find yourself laughing at you and your team-mates antics, along with the enemies.
All in all, a pretty fun game to play on a boring day. Have fun and what-not.
