Oh my! Look another rant from yours truly ^_^... sit back, grab a notebook and a pencil for this one...

Todays rant is about: Usernames...

Recently, CarsonTheRandom took the time to count certain username trends. I'd like to elaborate, or well offer my observation on said names. Now, according to his count: "There are 94 users with "Emo" in their names. There are 43 with "Sexy" or "Sexi"." I am more than confident, that number has increased. Either way, let's look at these...

Sexy or Sexii usernames.

Now, having banned TONS of these kind if names I have noticed, 9 times out of 10, these users are the usual ones looking for a boy or girl to date in the chatroom. "Hii n e sngle boyz?!"<< Yep! THOSE users. Really? Half of you are under the age of 13 and have no idea what the hell sexy even means! You only know what you learn from Teen Bop magazine and Nickelodeon shows.

Sexy isn't something someone your age needs to worry about. Honestly, worry about school, and making a life for yourself, and being successful. Not about who thinks you are "sexy" on a DSi site, cause most of the time, it's a lie.

Also, I have also noticed that most of you also fake your pictures! Yes, I am on iPod, I can see the code for your images. I am positive a pic you find on Tumblr is not you. So why fake it? Is it because you're not as sexy as your username implies? OMG NOWAI?! Yea, and you wonder why people call you fake, or an attention seeker. Cause you're probably just here to cyber and date. Not saying ALL "Sexy" users are here for that, but 3/4 of you are.

Next is Emo Usernames...

So you're an Emo? GOOD FOR YOU! But does that mean you bring your emotional problems to the attention of everyone in a chatroom? "I hate my life, I am so depressed. I think I will cut.. Wahh wahh". Seriously? We don't care.

I am not trying to be mean, but if you are that depressed that you feel you need to broadcast it in a chatroom or conveniently place it in your username, just to make people feel sorry for you, then that is pathetic. Being Emo is all fine and dandy but don't draw attention to yourself by putting it in your username with 93 other people doing the same thing.

One thing you need to see is that most Emo names get made fun of. Have you noticed this? Everyday they are bashed and picked on, especially here. So why put yourself in that predicament? Is it because you crave attention? Is it because you thrive off of people telling you how sorry they feel for you? Or how much they care about you and you shouldn't hurt yourself? If that is indeed the reason, then life will disappoint you.

People like the users here won't always be there to pick you up when you're down. They won't be there to stop the blade from cutting your skin, like they are here. Life away from school and this site is much more cruel and less understanding. You may have a bad life but look at the people around the world who have it worse than you, but smile everyday because they value that they have a life.

Children die of AIDS in Africa everyday without food or medical help... Yet they still strive to live no matter how hopeless or hard their life is. People in the USA are homeless, on the street with no food.. No shelter.. No family, and you cut yourself because you're Emo and have no friends to talk to? You just lost your boyfriend or girlfriend and now you must die cause all hope is lost, what about the women and men who lose their wives and husbands everyday to war and violence... They still hold their heads high and live each day with the happy memories of their loved ones.

You must realize that the problems you face here and at school are nothing compared to what other people are going through. So before you go into a chatroom and complain about how bad your life is and how much you want to hurt yourself, think about other people who have it worse than you before you say "OMG M SU IGNORD NO WAN WILL TLK 2 MEH"...

Seriously people, come up with more original usernames, Emo and Sexy are overdone and just for attention seekers nowadays... Well I guess I pissed off enough people today... See ya!

I know my name will be counted coz of the 'Xx"s but I did just: Rinoa . but that looked kinda boring so I made it RinoaMay, for length. It still needed something else, so I did the xXRinoaMayXx and name looked a bit more interesting

Wow, I've never said things like like that in a chatroom. I've never been made fun of for my username either. Heck, I'm not even emo! I'm kinda gothic. I lost a bet with a friend and she got to choose my username.

What's wrong with being emo anyway? The whole "Stabby, rip, stab, cut" thing is very stereotypical. It's more of a style that came out of the late '80s/early '90s.

Good rant.Most "sexy" or sexii" usernames annoy the hell out of me.
But not all the emo usernames are ment for anttention seeking.And not all are "why meee?!". many people don't even know what emo means.
They just think it's some stupid new trend (seriously).One or two iieat usernames are original.Like iieatcarebears (aka leda).
Not all of these names are attention seeking and whatever else.

What is really annoying is that a lot of people(not all but many) who have usernames such as xXSexiiEmoSceneVampireBabiiXx have bios that have written stuff like this "im a 16 yr old emo sceen goth gurl im bi(hatersgonnahate) my lief is so bad dat i cut mehself lots of slits on ma rists evry day cuz my mom wont let me die my hair or get a hair straigtnr & my bf broke up wit meh so nao i has no fwends to hang wif i come here to gt a new bf so if u wnt to bee my new bf msg & add meh btw im nawt emo,sceen or goth im just meh i feel so alone/sibr /cutcutcut". Also it's irritating many spam stuff in chatrooms like "i hate my lief imma keel mehself" or "any hawt emo bi ppl wnt to be my bf/gf",well some other stuff too but you get the point.

The research is only based on users whose usernames begin with the mentioned words. There are probably many more with those contained elsewhere in the username.

This is old.

The name have been on an increase for a while. I think I count around 60+ for a variation for sexy. Alongside that, it's everywhere on the Internet so in the near future they will start increasing in number again. Which is pretty weird for this site, given that it's meant to be family orientated people still go out of their way and make names like "Sexii Girl" no comment on those people...

As for the "emo" names I'd say half of them is to get attention, and the other half need to go to therapy... Wait 75% for attention.

The usernames don't bother me. It's their personalities.
I know a few "emo" and "sexii" usernames that are really not that bad as far as attention seeking and drama goes.

But you're right. A majority of them are what you say. But like I said, I look for the personalities. Not the usernames. Unless the username is vulgar.

I totally agree with BOTH of these observations. The 'sexy/sexi/sexii' ones want a bf/gf. & many times, don't last too long anyway. & the 'emo' ones are just a trend that want attention. True 'emo' people that is, people who have DEPRESSION & need REAL help FROM a DR. are ASHAMED of their issue, not eager to broadcast it to everyone they come across.
