I'm kinda frustrated. When I'm frustrated I usually angst my frustration about whatever is frustrating me to every person with a working pair of ears I can find. Unfortunately angsting to my family wasn't enough, so I'm bringing it here because I'm petty like that.

It's not breaking news, it's not a crisis, and its certainly not going to interest many of you, but I'm going to rant anyway because like I said, I'm frustrated.

What I'm frustrated about is queue jumping. That's right, because their time is so much important than yours.

I'm annoyed because people at my school seem to be under some kind of egotistical delusion that the single most important thing in the universe is that they get their lunch before you. And of course, people at theme parks who arrived at a queue later than you are far more entitled to ride it than you. Makes sense right? -_-

Some people are selfish, annoying idiots who just can't seem to stand waiting just like EVERY SINGLE OTHER PERSON is doing. Funny how peer pressure doesn't apply in queues huh? So I'm standing there in the lunch queue at school, a good 2 minutes or so away from a full belly, only it's not 2 minutes. It's more like 10, since some people are so starving that they have to get their lunch before me.

Of course, the school like to think they're stopping it, but they aren't. They really aren't. A woman standing at the farthest end of the queue is hardly adequate deterrence when people as hungry as these arrive.

So about 7 minutes into my queuing experience, several mouthy little year 7's and 8's barge in on the scene.
"Excuse me," I say, "But I think you'll find the end of the queue is over there."

They laugh and quote me in mocking voices, and make no attempt to leave. I pester them further but they just ignore me. I can't really take much further action on it, partly because a teacher is standing nearby and I don't want to get done for assaulting a Year 8 again. Also partly because everyone cuts into the queues, and if I protest they're all just going to think I'm a stupid, overreacting snitch.

That's another thing that annoys me, the fact that everyone sees people pushing in, but they just don't give a damn. It's accepted as something you CAN do, like the queue isn't really a line, more just a crowd of people shoving their way closer to the front.

That's literally what it looks like after about 20 people have decided that they can't be held back by that silly little human trait known as ORDER. We're like, THE species that can communicate with others properly, and that uses order and logic in our decisions. Why then are we not revelling in this fact and being proud that we, unlike mice, are able to be responsible and unselfish when it comes to food?

But no, we display a stupid primal urge to beat each other to it, as if that which we want will spontaneously combust if we don't reach it first. These people irritate me so much.

PLUS, to add insult to injury, half these people who were so desperate to get their grub first chuck half of it down the bin. Seriously, there is little more stupid than fighting for something just to waste it. These people annoy me so much.

I see it all the time in pubs and restaurants, half-eaten plates of food and nigh-on full drinks, left unattended and abandoned simply because some person had bitten off more than they could chew.There are few things more slothful and wasteful than this, which is why I never waste food. I'm thankful that I have an ample supply of food, whenever I need it, and that I've never really felt properly starving. So I don't send it all to go to waste rotting away in some dump.

If you take the same scenario, but translate it into something on a larger scale, say, a traffic jam on a motorway, the absurdity of it becomes clear. In cars, large, fast moving hunks of sharp metal filled with highly combustive fuel, there is obviously a lot greater a threat than in a dinner queue, so naturally you'd expect some more caution? Or not -_-

People in cars do it too, if it's something as simple as indicating left because the left lane is shorter, then sneakily slipping to the right. Some people just can't learn the value of patience, coordination and COOPERATION. people just need to learn to get along without being selfish morons all the time and perhaps considering that other people's time is just as important.

There aren't many things I feel very strongly about, but this is one of them. People need to grow up and learn some respect.
