SDK needs change.

Hello Guys. I've been thinking a lot about SDK and how it's kind of going down hill so I made a blog to confront it. Let's hope it goes well. 

The first thing is Admins. I support IronShadows idea that SDK admins should be banable. If all admins are who they say they are they would have no problem with this. I know that no one is perfect, but sometimes power gets to people's head. (It's happened to me before) 
Taking a break from being Admin has opened my eyes to a lot of things. I see what all the members were upset about. I feel there pain. To have to deal with things that admins do to you, but yet if they're wrong there's no one there to listen. 

As a former admin, I see both sides of the situation.  The rules are strict but I believe that we should slack up a little. Some members need a push in the right direction and not just a ban. I learned this from Timodachi. He was my admin mentor and taught me a lot. He always told me that Being admin was not about banning "noobs" it's about being a leader and setting an example. Again, my brake has cleared the fog in my eyes and I understand. 

Next up is abuse of power. In my honest opinion, your own personal feelings or thoughts about a member should never shade your judgement. I know it's better said then done, and I struggled A LOT with this but all admins need to have the understanding that everyone should be treated equally. You shouldn't decline Member A's blog because you don't like him/her or the subject of his/her blog.  RaptorOfDoom has taught me that you need to forgive and forget. Everyone needs to forget what has happened in the past and move on. With that said, I challenge all admin, not just chat mods but all administrators to treat everyone the same. If you don't like someone, suck it up because there's going to be people in life that you don't like. 

Finally, I think that communication between Admins/Overlords/Members need to be stronger. I suggest a monthly news letter through SDK's notifications. This will help keep everyone on the same page and help resolve conflict. I also think that we should have sort of Member ambassadors. I shall contact members myself to see if they are interested. I will look for people that can represent a sections of SDK,  and that can communicate to admins what members concerns are. From that Idea I think that an admin BB page be created.

Amen jake... ive been aying this for two years, maybe this will spark the change.

I deffinately look forward to hearing about meetings, if you need an ambassador im totally dedicated to the cause and up for it :p

That isn't an admin job. It's not on the admin list and it doesn't count as a power.

I've noticed that many times now admins are very "triggerhappy" with their ban powers this isn't neccessarily on purpose, but warnings should be given before a ban and I hadly ever seen admins warn anymore...

Another thing @Takis, if your just a role model, then why don't you want your actions to have a consequence. See the good admins don't mind because they won't be banned.

Haru I didn t apreciate the "Noobs need to learn sometime" ban, and then you posted that link of me saying you love ponys -_- real mature

We should set up a Democracy :] Without the average member DsiPaint is worthless. The people are the money, and if we wanted to we could kill this site but lets not ^_^

Simple answer: If an admin is saying no to banning, he/she fears what he is doing is wrong.

I say, due to some possible problems, it takes multiple staff members to ban an admin.

Some chatmins don't warn at all. I understand if the member is going crazy cursing or something, but warnings are there for a reason.
Another flaw is as Jab mentioned ban reasons. I constantly see something insulting the user. Ban reasons were made so you know why that person was banned, not a chance to insult people. I have gotten banned and had no clue why, because of ridiculous ban reasons.
I see no reason for admins not to be bannable. If they believe they are doing there job correctly they shouldn't be worried.

Agreed.

Someone commented below saying that Terminators should be given the right to ban admins rather than admins themselves. I disagree. I think currently active, we have a total of 1 or 2 terminators that actually hold decent judgement.

That sounds awfully identical to the "recommanding a admin" process.

Instead of banning admins, demote them. Sort of like admin levels. Your start at A1 and work your way up to A5. But if your at A1 and you get demoted, your a member again. This could be put in the admin box on your profile instead of the "Overlord Admin". It could be put as "Admin Level:". And if your overlord your at A6.

Zeus Is actually right. People who WANT to ban people are going to be idiots. Some blogmins are ok. But some people think there important cos they have pointless admin rights. HB should hire people he actually knows and trusts.

Hmm. You say that admins should be the role models, but you also say that you should be able to ban admins. I personally believe that someone looking through the banlist and spotting an admin's name would lower thier respective capability towards that admin.

People don't stay the same as a couple years ago. -.-

To borrow a favoirite comedic analogy of mine, a workplace is like a centi/milipede. It ony works if all the little legs move in the same direction. I can name a few busted legs.

Now, I suppose banning Admins isn't the best idea. How about holding them accountable on a superior level and Deadmining them for certain offenses? Seeing an Admin on the //banlist probably won't send the right message, as said below. So, hoold them accountable for their level of authority.

Does it not make sense?

Admins need to be held a bit more accountable. My take on it is that possible banning (from Terminators perhaps?) is just one way that could be done.

I'd disagree: If we would change, only because of the admins.. And that you are reporting some of them should be banable, thats already crossing the line. Try making a list of admins that are struggling.

I think we need a specific and laid out rule system for what is and isn't bannable so that we don't have one admin banning for one thing and another ignoring it. (you know who you are)

There does need to be a line which an Admin knows they cannot cross without being banned and/or loosing there Adminship though. Otherwise, we'd just end up back where we've been for what seems like forever: people claiming Admins aren't acting like, well, they should be acting.

I like this blog and fully agree, and I would love to see the changes you suggested...
But honestly, the chances of this happening because of a blog, are not likely. Blogs don't usually do anything. Like Zoey's blog fights are dumb blog. Ignoring the length, that's not gonna do anything. But we'll have to see.

Agree to this but why bother? Happened before and barely anything happened. Psychological test shuold be made before being admin.
