Walk through the dark,
feel for my escape.
Evil presences always lurk,
Screams, almost sounding fake.

Nothing here is real,
is it? I wonder all the time.
I no longer can feel,
This punishment fits no crime.

I don't deserve the blistering pain,
screams you hear aren't from me.
Nothing can make them slain,
All together, not me but we.

We must escape this deathly place,
I hear them now, they're close.
Do not dare look in their face,
It is withered like an ancient rose.

I see a light its out of my reach,
I feel hands upon my feet.
They try to suck my life like a leech,
even my body they try to eat.

My hand reaches out, I feel the light,
I'm so close now, yet so far.
Nothing I could do is right,
Close me back behind bars.

I was almost there, I realize,
back in my cell with darkness arise,
I even now can feel the flies,
this'd be gone if I had open eyes.

My nightmare is reality,
reality now a dream.
Nothing is ever in my reach,
all I can do is hear the screams.

I feel a shaking, my parents maybe,
I feel a slap and it stings.
Nothing can even help me awaken,
So I handle the pain.

I'm stuck here now.
Don't be like me.
For a nightmare,
isn't where you want to be.
