I haven't had much time lately to work on projects for the community, but I still thought I would give an update on two big projects that may be having slow progress, but progress nonetheless:

The Mystical Journey
I haven't had time for my computer much, so the majority of TMJ development has been outlining the appearance of various locations that will be playable in the game. Even though a few members promised to help sketch out levels, no one has submitted any content, so I will probably start designing layouts this week.



There has been a little progress on the next demo, which includes Halvera, Belmeir Castle, and the Halvera caves. I decided (and announced on Twitter) that TMJ will not have overworld maps (classic Final Fantasy style) but will, instead, have seemless levels (Earthbound style). I feel that this ties together the locales of the game much better. (I will also make for a really cool world map in the end!)

SDK Community App

I've been focusing on cleaning up the code behind the app, which will make menus load faster and produce a smaller memory footprint on the iOS devices.

I mentioned a while back that I wanted to provide a special bonus for those who pay for the "Pro" version of the app, so check out the 5th menu item that is coming to the next release, just for the "Pro" owners! (Why the sudden resurgence of activity with HB Online? Hmm...)



The next release will see that divergence between the "Pro" and "Free" versions of the app, but both will resume synchronized development for the following version, most likely with chatrooms or paint voting.
