"AN UNKNOWN SONNET BY SHAKESPEARE(S)"
Britney Spears always tries to make us cry,
Offends us all with her table dancing,
Swings them hips and utters several sighs,
"Oh baby baby", is not real singing,
She can't still be this crazy at her age,
Does drugs and assaults cars with umbrellas,
Performing on stage inside of a cage,
Parties all night with good friends of Stella's,
We waste our money for only lip-sync,
Praise an idiot of the pop genre,
Pray of hope for this woman in a blink,
Maybe save this soul with help from Rhonda,
And no more plastic surgery for you,
Or else, Britney, we certainly will sue!!
Explanation: Lol. This was a sonnet that I wrote during my freshman year of high school. I wrote it for Honors English 9. Basically, the poem follows the rules for a traditional Shakespearean sonnet, all while bad talking Britney Spears. I mean, how much better could it get?! Lol. My teacher loved it, too!! So, I am quite proud of this poem.
The lines in each stanza are colored to represent the rhyme scheme that is required for this type of poem: ABAB CDCD EFEF GG.
Also, on a side note, 'Rhonda' and 'Stella' are only used because they rhymed. There is no reference of a person with those names, so please, don't ask who they are. Lol.
THANKS FOR READING!!
