Hey everyone. I'm not quite sure how many of you remember me, but I was a very active member for nearly two years on the site.
You might be wondering what exactly I'm doing here writing a blog after being completely inactive for over a year.
In a happy accident I stumbled across the announcement for Flipnote Studio for the 3DS (about time!) and remembered I hadn't checked the community in quite some time.
It's comforting to see that everything is pretty much the same as I remember it, albeit with some welcome changes.
I guess I'll cease rambling and get down to the core of why I wrote this blog.
There is a life after DSiPaint for many of you.
You'll have gained great memories and even better friends, played countless hours of fun web games, gotten banned in chat for spamming or goofing off.
It's all coming back to me. It may sound weird, but more has changed in the 12 months that I left this site than did in the two years I was a member.
I'm the youngest member of the Theme Entertainment Association, and I'm an active participant in the themed entertainment industry (AKA Imagineering type work) as a creative designer, I'm a Nationally Qualified Irish Dancer with my very first Preliminary Championship competition on Saturday, I'm the lead editor for my school's weekly video magazine, my YouTube channel has over 250,000 video views, and I completely changed my perspective on dating and am now spending my time with a beautiful young woman who I would most likely go crazy without.
Things change, your opinions change.
Remember I mentioned above that I have a girlfriend? Go back and read my blog where I vehemently attacked High School dating as being meaningless. Heck, I look back at a lot of my blogs and think to myself "Dear lord was I really THAT dumb?"
Honestly I wasn't though. It's experience. Many of the members of this site are young or in their teenage years, where just a few days of experience can drastically change your POV on a particular subject.
We're young, impressionable! Flamboyant! But we're also shy, disheartened, and emotional.
So much has happened in my life that amazing since I left this community so long ago. For many of you, there will be a day when you leave this site behind. You may not know it yet, but it will happen. I hope that your lives after DSiPaint are filled with as much excitement and success as mine have been.
I wish all of the community, friends, newer members, enemies (yes you guys too ) and especially Savant and Hull for bringing us this great community that got me through some tough spots.
I'm rooting for you all, now go have a fun and productive life.
Regards,
Alex (Tycoon Master)
PS: I'm sorry for all the drama my blogs used to cause people. I know I did touchy subjects and I'm sorry I wrongly went after the roleplaying community. But hey you guys got your own chat rooms out of that, so I guess you can thank me.
Meh... Alas, I know this. I am preparing for the goodbye... Just kidding, I`m not that depressing!! Sounds like fun!! I think a lot of things have changed both on and off the site for me, including myself. I used to be such a downer sometimes.. But then, you grow older and learn that there is more to life than just the negatives, even though these negatives are sometimes just as important as the positives. I had a time when I wasn`t on here for 7 months. Though, lets face it, changed didn`t occur then... You know, other than Hull changing everything in the mechanisms of the site. So, thanks to him for that frustration. XD Things change, but life goes on, and, who would have it any other way. +1 For making me appreciate all of you more! ;D
Oh, and I started on Flipnote Hatena originally... Why do they have to close the thing down though even though there`s a newer community marching in... It feels like they are bulldozing where I came from... So sad... Again, thanks to DSiPaint for providing me with a home to go to, and my older friends for directing me here. ;D
I have hard time seeing life after this but you know, Paint has changed many perspectives and thoughts I had. I too would like to thank Hull and Savant.
