Well, it's that time of year again. Since 2011, I've uploaded a blog about the British Charity event, CiN, and I thought I should write about it again this year.
Every year, around the 2nd Friday of November, BBC broadcasts a telethon starting at 7:30 pm tonight, GMT. Children in Need is a British Charity that supports children and families who have children who live with disadvantages in life, say they suffer a mental illness or suffering from loss of a loved one, they support them. And it's all thanks to Britain.
I'd say, Britain have been pouring so much money out this month. With the Typhoon in the Philippines, we have been donating to their cause, and with CiN too, let's say a lot of money has been spent.
Children in Need means a lot to me, personally. They helped my family, and friends, when we went through a tough time. And recalling back to last year, the stories told were heartbreaking. But CiN helped those and their families pull through.
Last year I asked to you guys to donate, by I won't bother this year. I doubt anyone did, which is okay, but like I've said and proved, it goes to a good cause.
If you do want to donate, the link will be at the end of this blog.
This year, I want to share some stories of the people they've helped. Please read them, don't just skip it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhfbVI8ORpY This story for me is a favourite. It makes me cry every time. For 6 years, Ben's life went from good to bad, twice. He suffered a rare spinal aged 12, losing his sight and paralysed below waist. After recovering, aged 15 he suffered from it again but worse, causing him depression.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6NzAlqrKQg Karen Gillan talks about a N.Ireland Cancer fund, and you hear about 9 year old Todd and how for 3 years he's had a brain tumour.
Every year people have been going against this saying 'oh why should we help' 'other countries need help' 'what makes them so important'
Hold on a second - if other countries need help, then why don't you help them. You can't just say 'oh other countries need help' when you don't even help yourself. Children in Need helps British children, not other children in Africa, India, etc. They already get soo much help so why is it when British children get help it's wrong?
I know a lot of you are American and couldn't care less about the British but still don't go saying that other foreign children are the only ones that need help, I would be surprised if you didn't have any similar charities over there.
