You know it's bad. Even before the whole Miley Cyrus situation it was bad.
What on earth happened to the awesome music we once had?
We had Nirvana, Radiohead, Pink Floyd, Coldplay and co. storming the charts.
Nowadays, we have people like Nicki Minaj and Miley Cyrus who take the 'music' out of 'music video' and take it as an opportunity to wear skimpy clothes and fly about like they own the place.
Maybe you think I'm a little bit too angry at this. Maybe I am!
Maybe you still like this generations music. Sure, you get the odd good song with a mediocre video mowadays, but about 95% of music these days are either techno or about dancing.
I'm getting pretty sick of it.
Sure, I named a few examples up above; Nirvana, Coldplay etc. Maybe you don't like these bands. I'm not arguing with you.
But I'm about 90% sure you have a favourite music genre who's music is barely made these days.
Take rock music, for example. Rockers still live on today, but do you EVER see a rock song in the top 20s these days?
Two possible conclusions can be made from this rant:
#1: Music fans have given up on Jazz, Rock, Punk etc. and have moved on to 'fit in with the crowd'.
#2: Stupid music about drinking alcohol and dancing until your brains dry up are slowly brainwashing young people, and even some old.
Number 2 is an interesting one, because my whole year is made up of 13-14 year olds and I have not heard a SINGLE person talk about any song or artist published before 2010.
They're too busy dancing to stupid rave music to even care.
So, maybe you're thinking 'People can like what music they want'. And that's perfectly acceptable: What worries me is the language in most of these songs.
I'm not going to give examples incase I get a whack of the ban-hammer, but you know what I mean.
So, what's your opinion on this generations music? Are you a fan? Or do you want the good old music back?
A lot of walls between genres are breaking down into one big melting pot of music-- when it comes to Rock at least.
Take for example, Band of Skulls, and The Black Keys. Both are considered Rock, but have a completely different feel.
Rock is a very vague genre. A very quickly evolving one too. What was Rock a decade ago is nothing like Rock today, but there are still bits of it that stayed the same.
As for Pop, the point of it is to push bad morals onto kids. Look at Pop from a decade ago, then today. Same, but different. I'm not saying Pop is bad though. Not at all.
I'm a huge rock fan! I hardly can find a different rock band now adays to listen too. So I stick to some bands I really like. Some examples are, Skillet, Breaking Benjamin, and Linkin Park. I really like these bands.
Todays music though is a joke. Some are OKish, but not that good.
While it's true that I prefer other styles to most of the current ones, I do think it's unfair to suggest that the newer kinds of music are objectively worse than prior ones. Music evolves and people's tastes in music evolves too.
Stuff like Pink Floyd or Coldplay are hardly talked about, while Miley Cyrus and Nicki Minaj are in the list of the top 10(or other number),they're like ice cubes;they melt until they're water, then it evaporates,it may also rain too...
I miss the old pop music. The ones that weren't revolved around drugs and alcohol and all that. You know that era with songs like I'm yours and Not Gonna Write you a Love Song and Hey Soul Sister? I miss that.
My year is made up of 14-15 year olds. I'm into punk, indie, and some hardcore things. I think some people talk about music made before 2010. It's just the populars only want popular things. I'm kinda more of a do whatever the hell I want kinda girl. I think the populars are trying to take control. TIME TO REBEL....too bad I suck at singing.

Children used to be at risk.
The, Michael Jackson died.
JK. You know I love Michael. He was a god, and, well, my blog said it. He was falsely accused of most everything.
Just like Obama.

You can say the names of most recent presidents, and I'll see it as funny: Bush (haha!), Clinton (haha!), Carter (haha!), Ford (haha!), Nixon (haha!), Roosevelt (haha!), Wilson (haha!), Johnson (haha!), Taft (haha!), etc.
I have no problems with Reagan, Kennedy, Eisenhower, and many of those further back.
