Alex was an average young boy who enjoyed ghost stories. Unfortunately, he was soon about to find himself within one. Hide and seek is more fun when you’re playing for your life.
After Alex and his friends finished telling ghost stories (and succeeding in freaking out Allie), Joe suggested they played a game and the vote was in favor of hide and seek. It was soon decided that since it was Joe’s idea, he should go first. The three hiders (Alex, Emma, and Allie) found their spots while Joe stepped outside and began counting down from twenty. “Five, four, three, two, one...” Joe paused for a second as something changed around him.”...Ready or not, here I come!” Alex could almost feel the house growing colder and darker as if something was there that shouldn’t be and he watched as Joe approached Emma, who (despite hiding almost right behind him) hadn’t quite realized that she’d been found. Joe tapped Emma on the back and smiled as she jumped and spun around. Emma began laughing as she stood up, before the expression on her face quickly changed to horror as she fell back down as Joe attacked her with a pair of scissors. Everything seemed to happen so quickly, and the next thing Alex knew, Joe was dead on the ground with the scissors he’d used on Emma protruding from his chest. Emma didn’t seem to be distraught over her actions at all, however. In fact, she almost seemed to be enjoying herself due to the wide grin on her face. Emma looked towards Alex and tilted her head, still with her wide grin, and waved.
Emma began strolling towards the door while singing. “Ding Dong, hurry up I'm starving
waiting for you here.”Alex locked the door as he ran upstairs and hid behind the railing. Alex could hear Emma slamming into the door in an attempt to burst it open. “Thunk, Thunk, Thu-CRACK!”Alex saw the door lock completely tear from the door frame, as the stained glass on the door shattered. Emma entered and stepped over the glass, still singing the same tune. “Ding Dong hurry up and run now
So that we can play
Tag on this special day of fun now.” Emma walked towards the main downstairs hallway, past the bathroom, and entered the room where Allie was hiding. “Breathing in a whisper
I can hear it getting closer.”Alex first heard Allie, then Emma scream. Allie exited the room, leaving Emma to bleed out from her multiple stab wounds by Allie’s knitting needles. Alex began to run towards his bedroom, catching Allie’s attention who began singing in the same tone as Emma. “Thumping down the hallway, Footsteps on an old wood floor board” Alex locked his bedroom door and searched for something, anything, that could protect him. Being forced to settle on two sharpened pencils, he hid in his closet, and held his breath. Alex heard the footsteps outside his room. ”Knock Knock I'm affront your bedroom And I'm coming in. Don't need a key or pin to help me.” Alex heard his door open. “Look under the bed sheets, clever boy to keep me guessing. Cannot find a body, but I haven't checked the closet.” Alex prepared himself as “Allie” approached the closet. “Ding-dong, here you are.” Alex leapt out at his friend, and everything went black.
Alex was a young boy who enjoyed ghost stories, and soon found himself within one. As he picked himself up the ground, he smiled to himself and began humming as he walked downstairs into the bathroom. Alex cleaned the blood off his shirt and arms, and looked at the mirror. Instead of Alex, however, the image of a young girl is seen instead.
