What could such a simple website do to impact my entire life? Why would I even be writing out this statement, when the once bursting energy of the community has faded?
I'll tell you why.
Watching the others around you in "real life" who appear to have happiness and confidence, when all you'd want is a friend, can be a hard way to grow up happy. Having a friend, whether it be in real life, or online, can help your dazed and sad state fade to happiness. Although the once thriving community here faded just as well, the happiness it has imprinted on so many lives makes it amazing to this day.
I remember messaging "Astra Moon," and just not knowing what to do with my life. It wasn't a cry for help, but merely trying to figure myself out. Logging into today, after so many years, got me to tear up and realize how incredibly important my online friends have been to me. No, it doesn't mean you're a loser if you hide behind a screen for help. Any help is good help.
You guys, my online friends and chat room buddies, I hope all is well and if things aren't well, my prayers are to go to you. Remember that as hard as it is sometimes, being bullied, different, or unexplainably sad doesn't mean it's the end of the road. You're life is just beginning.
I will be graduating highschool this coming year and have been taken down a trip of memories visiting this website today. Ah, as insignificant as it sounds, getting a blog featured on here would be the most exciting and biggest deal ever. My christmas blog was poppin, lol.
Thank you all, I felt like it was worth writing to anyone still on this site, it's awesome to see all the response!! Looks like the sight isn't "dead" per se
Yeah, this site was pretty sweet for several years.
Definetly one of the best websites I visited/joined/used as a kid. I had a DSi and the ability to have the entire Internet accessible on it (because that's pretty much the only device I used at the time) was pretty cool for me, and more was that sites like these one were optimized and ran well on the DSi browser.
I didn't trash this site because the community was interesting and because it had lots of great features that other DSi sites didn't have. I remember how much fun the Christmas parties were and when we had continuous ongoing chats. Made lots of lasting friendships here that have moved off-site, and I'm grateful for that.
Also, it's a good thing that the DSiCade administrators were douchebags, because, otherwise, I wouldn't have found this site.
You and I share similar feelings in this site. While I am still active on here everyday, I always get flooded with memories of friends I've made on here. Most all of them that I had originally have now moved on, and this does sadden me somewhat, but hey, it happens. I just sort of, found new people, and those that I do still have contact with, is not on this site. Now, granted, I have also been on here for five years as of today, those orignal friends I made on here, I hope to someday talk to again.
