well, i'd have em all, but my team would be:
Empoleon
Staraptor
Blaziken
Leavanny (i'm good w/ them)
a good, well-rounded ground or rock type
and... a lucario :3

Tyranitar, Metagross, and Togekiss. Tyranitar, being the brute of the bunch. Metagross, as the strong yet laid back and wise of team. And Togekiss, being the more cheerful and outgoing, bringing joyful moments to the trio. The different, but most perfect trio I ever had.

Top prioity, I'd steal a Torchic to evolve. Somehow.

Then I'd get a ratatta, just because they're cute. It'd stay on my shoulder. Filthy little adorable bastard would probably be taught cut, but otherwise wouldn't even fight. A miltank would be a good pokemon to have since I'd be able to ride it (Right?) and I could sell the milk it has or give it to my Blaziken. Then again I'm not extremely fond of miltank, so I wouldn't go searching for it.

A mareep. A poochyena or absol. Absol would suck to search for; "When you see absol... disaster is imminent." My flying type would be Pidgey or Swablu. Pidgey evolves nicely. Altaria looks stable and cloudy, flying wouldn't be so scary. Getting it involves ash, though.

So. I didn't take into account that there are different regions.
But yeah.

Poochyena/Absol.
Pidgey/Swablu.

Then again, in the world of pokemon I'd be a completely different person. You all would. Ò.O
