Despite the fact that I'd like Nintendo (partnered with Blizzard maybe?) to tackle a hitherto untapped genre for them, a Pokemon MMORPG has many problems that would arise from it gameplay wise.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
@The Ram; No, actually. Imma nerd and have seen forums of this rumor. (I'm not saying I believe everything in forums.) And also, Nintendo journalists have posted [Not on this site, obviously.] about this rumor.
@Skittles; True. But when I heard the rumor my mind just started racing with possibilities.
@Waffle King; The only problems I could really visualize are Nintendo not including actual regions. Also, if the getthe online HORRIBLE on the Wii U, especially when let down by the Wii.
Take my hand! Don't let me fade away, don't let me fade away!
@Waffle Do you mean a Smash Bros. Pokemon game? That would be kinda unoriginal, just sayin'. :P
One big problem with a Pokemon MMO centers around the most central of Pokemon mechanics: capturing Pokemon. Since it would be an MMO, there could potentially be hundreds of players battling, likely dozens fighting each one. How do you decide who gets to capture the Pokemon? This would be a especial problem on legendary Pokemon, as everyone would want it, and giving a copy to each player fighting it kinda ruins the "legendary" status.

@Jack10; I'm not sure if "journalist" is the right word. But mainly, "Nintendo3DS" on YouTube, (He is official) and "My Nintendo News" (Who is also official.)
@Skittles; That was one of my thoughts too. How would catching Pokemon work?
Take my hand! Don't let me fade away, don't let me fade away!
Ok? My dad used to tell me a saying: Just cause you see iton TV doesnt mean its real. Tho in this case. I would think its possible. Cause Android phones have a few MMORPG's. Unless this Wii U, is just a portable version of the Wii with no upgrades on flash. In that case. no.
