Man loses Life Savings On Carnival Stand

Oh boy. More stupidity.
So apparently this guy wanted to win an Xbox Kinect for his son at a carnival game but ended up dropping $300 within the first hour. After driving home and gathering another $2000, he lost that, too. So the man who ran the stand gave him back $600 and a giant banana.
I dont want to live on this planet anymore.
Any thoughts?

My thoughts are that 1) it sounds like a typical shock news segment, and 2) it seems the "life savings" were very readily available to access, be it courtesy of an ATM or beneath the man's mattress.
