because everyone hates having to listen to a person whine that they are never coming back

Of course its a good idea. If you couldn't permanently delete your account, then people might keep sending you messages like "hey man, where are you?"

For argument's sake, you can leave a message on your bio stating that you left.

I dislike the feature. There's increased potential for people to screw around with multiple accounts, hacking, sabotage, alts, etc.

That button needs to be deleted because someone could hack your account and delete it.

I don`t like it.
1. People hack and delete.
2. People hit it by accident.
3. Someone gets extremely angry, and deletes it without thinking they'll miss it later.
That's my opinion.

Yeah I really hate it and i know ive already said this but ill say it one more time.And I agree with Daisy. Ok, you know how admins have a lot of haters? Well, lets say an admin hater gets really mad at that admin and decides to hack their account. When the hater hacks the admin's account they can hit that button and there goes that admin! So for everyone's sake, this button should be deleted.

You have to remember, Terminators can restore a wrongfully deleted account.
I think it's a handy feature, but very risky. There needs to be a separate password set for it. Not the account password. A separate one.
You should just be able to type that instead of "Cancel".

Like I said though, if you are wrongfully deleted, somehow contact a terminator or overlord, and they can restore it ONLY if you had no intention of deleting it in the first place. I don't think changing your mind works.

I know my apprehensions might never be allayed. And so I close, realizing that perhaps the ending has not yet been written...

Agreed, DC. People start complaining about wanting to leave the site and get perma'd, so after a terminator says no, they come to the chatrooms and explode at someone or other. So it's a good idea, but I've noticed one or two people say "Talk to me or I'll cancel my account", or something along those lines.
