Its just a suggestion, each use could choose a limited number of paintings like 10..and set them as 'special', write a profile for it..a description..and enabling commentations, also paintings set as 'special' could be displayed at full size, to show details, the special gallery of a member can be acessed by its profile.

How about this idea?

It's a decent idea actually. But still Hull is working on Savii's then HBonline after that. I wouldn't mind seeing this idea pull through though.

Not a bad idea. A separate "paint blog" wouldn't be ideal due to the lack of quality comments, though incorporating paintings into blogs might be a better way to accomplish this.

Subtle @ Saviis are very diferent than paintings, my idea is to give the oportunity, for the author, to choose really important artwork and make a 'special' gallery, each painting with a description and letting people comment on each paint, i would like to do that with some of my paintings and i would like to comment and read some paintings author's description, and i am pretty sure people would like too, we learn alot with each other with just visual info, imagine the amount of philosofical and reflexive content each author could share?
Without forgetting the humouristic paints =P

Limxzero @ Incorporating paints to blogs ...uhm...yeah...that would lead to the same objective but we have blogs as textual exclusive info already and saviis will be added soon, paints can take care of a more visual than textual content (with description and comments), while blogs take care of a more textual than visual content (with saviis),

True, but I don't think commenting on paintings would be too important or even necessary. And Saviis in blogs can't really replace paintings.

I think a "Featured Painting" section (maybe with short captions) on user profiles is a good enough idea.

@Limxzero Thats not really what i am trying to explain, this isn't something for the author to get popularity or show his paintings to everyone, its just a personal record for the most special paints for him/her, a description about that paint, and people's feedback on it, got it?

The mechanics are less of an issue than the actual idea. I think a short description and commenting for paintings would be akin to the current Saviis--the text and comments of which are admittedly little-utilized for edification. This idea follows very closely to the auction idea. Therefore, unless paintings get to be auctionable, I find this idea unnecessary.
