He wrote the novel, and Stanley Kubrick made the movie. I'm sure you've heard of him, right?

Haven't seen nor read it. D: Even though I like his writing, I've only scratched the surface of his works because of the sheer length of them. It's very time consuming--it took me a month to actually -read- that first one because he packs so much detail in it. What I've read so far is most of the Dark Tower series, The Stand, and some earlier novels. Things like The Shining and Green Mile are much more famous as films.

Unfortunately, most of the movie adaptations are crap. It's best to stick with the books. Which is usually the case. (:

Really long and really creepy. Oh, that describes all his novels. XD Seriously though, it's paints a very dark, morbid picture of fantasy and post-apocalyptic times. Not appropriate for younger ages at all, lol. Strangely, King has said that the book was much inspired from Lord of the Rings, which made want to read it.
