Everyone knows it's going on, and everyone is sick of it. I get reports from fighting admins on both sides, and from bystanders everyday. It needs to stop.
For the most part, people consider being an admin here a privilege. If someone enters a chat and sees your name in red, you are representing this web site. When you get into fights with each other, especially in front of other users, it reflects poorly on this entire web site.
HB and I try to make this a friendly place for kids to be able to go and hang out with their friends, trade video game friend codes, play games, have fun. We don't want this turning into a cesspool of drama that makes everyone uneasy.
I am just going to lay down some ground rules here, I would like admins and users alike to respect these... especially admins, you represent this site, and in the future I will start taking away chat admin powers if this drama continues.
Guidelines for Admins:
- Yes, talk about religion, and politics is allowed, if it is civil. Once someone starts name calling that's when the ban hammer may drop.
- Admins: Other admins are your peers, your co-workers, if you're working at say, Sears, and you start a fight with name calling and bashing in front of customers, don't you think you'll get fired? This is no different.
- I don't care who started the fight! I only care about who is mature enough to end it. If someone is mean to you, be the bigger man, let it go. Also, /block exists for a reason.
I'm sure I could go on and on, but I shouldn't even have to post those.
If this drama continues I will start taking admin powers away. So make me proud... please.
Hey, Mr. Gump. I just wanted to let you know that I really apreciate the fact that you and Mr. Gump made this site had have kept it running for a few years. I've been able to make many friends and practice better grammar and spelling on here. Thank you!
Hi , I Would Like Help From You Because My Messages Will Not Send It Keep's Saying "One or more recipients required" When There Is One. Could You Tell Me How To Fix This ?
No, they don't ↓ I look at the ban list all the time and I'm usually in a chatroom for a minimum of 2 hours each time, I watch a lot of the banning happen. 89.9% of the time it isn't the admin banning for entertainment, it's someone being stupid. If you get banned look at what happen and think of the reasons why you were banned. No "poor me" stuff, just accept your punishment and learn from it.
can we seriously get a warning for replacing bad words with "(bleep)"? XD i just got one a couple of hours ago and i was like "How the heck is that bad???". In my head... "WHAT THE (bleep)!?!"
This is good. Users keep complaining about admins banning them.If i got banned and the admin misunderstood my actions i waited for ban to end then tell the admin in chat that they misunderstood my actions that day.
As long as there is peace, there will also be chaos- Yin-Yang Balance...
Anyway, I guess what I'm getting at here is that there will always be fighting, sometimes more than other times, but eventually things will even out...
Thank you Sam, I often say that we need each other to make this site a better place to chat. We need to work together. I know I'm not 100% innocent, but the only admin I've ever fought with is now perma'd. (I apologize for being an argumentative person...) I pretty much get along with all the other admins.
I agree with Sav AND Dc, I think I have the right as a Person and as an admin. To question something if I see that it is wrong. If someone bans someone for a "stupid" reason. I have the right to unban...That's what admin jobs are for right? I really don't have to talk with others admins, IMO. If I don't get a long with some, it's best I avoid them. But thanks for the Blog and the new Insight.
Some action needs to be taken, as Kendall said. We could re-blog the rules all we want, but only will the drama stop if someone actually gets a consequence.
Top be honest, they're not going to take this seriously for a while. That's just how it goes. When someone breaks these guidelines and you take away their powers, that's when they'll start taking it seriously.
Adress the discretion rule could help, it's clearly being twisted to each admins liking and some arguments could be because of one party thinking a ban was unneeded for what ever reason.
