In order to understand some of the weird and/or unique terms that I use in this story series, I made these glossaries, in which I try to explain what they all mean.Helena (Age 10): Yeah, I guess we should hold off on all the Necromancy talk 'til we go to Helheim and discuss it with the Drow…
Helena: You're sure that that "Go to Hell" Spell of yours will take me to the Dead Zone, right? Because I'd hate to wind up in Muspelheim before I'm ready waste Balroth's sorry behind…
Necky: I'm positive. This spell is regularly used by the Drow, even in the Current World Order.
Helena: Alright then. Let's do this.
Helena had basically reached the limit of what she could learn concerning Dark Magic in Midgard, and so she sought to learn from the greatest living users of Dark Magic: the Drow.
The Drow were second only to Dragonkin in their mastery of Dark Magic, and being naturally gifted in Dark Magic herself, Helena sought to train with them, as well as to ask them about her theories concerning the idea of Necromancy.
When her and Necky arrived in Svartalfheim, she felt that she had finally found a place that she could call home.
While she was rejected by most Humans (other than her godmother Lisa of course), the Drow actually admired her. Not only were they impressed by her skill at using Dark Magic, which surpassed that of even their greatest Dark Magi, but they also actually thought that she looked beautiful, unlike most Humans, who either feared her or hated her for her appearance.
It was also easier to deal with the Drow because they could all see Ghosts just like she could, and also because they all knew Necky.
She, Necky, Helena Blackheart, and Mordecai Grimsoul all met, to discuss her Necromancy theory.
Helena Dusklight: Wow! So your name really is Helena too?! How cool is that?! I actually have the same name as the empress of Svartalfheim!
Helena Blackheart: Well, it IS a fairly common name, I suppose…
Helena Blackheart: Anyway, why don't you tell us about this "Necromancy" idea of yours?
Helena Dusklight: Alright.
Helena Dusklight: Basically, the idea is to summon the souls of those suffering in Muspelheim or the Ghosts of those wandering Midgard to my location in Midgard, and to bind them to the skeletons of their original bodies.
Helena Dusklight: Considering that Soul Summoning has been done before, and that Soul Binding has been used before in the process of becoming a Lich, it seems to me that this sorta thing should be possible as well.
Helena Blackheart: Your logic is sound, but pulling off such a feat would require a tremendous amount of magical power, and I doubt that any mortal alive today would be capable of doing this, not even me…
Helena Blackheart: Then again, you are clearly quite gifted at using Dark Magic, and perhaps this "Freak Gene" of yours would allow you to perform such a miraculous feat.
Mordecai: Tell me Helena… Have you located a suitable test subject for this Necromancy experiment of yours?
Mordecai: What you are proposing now has never been done before, not even by Lady Necrofyrmythyr herself, so you must be prepared for the potential consequences of attempting to do this…
Necky: Back in my era doing something like this would've been pointless, as nobody was condemned to eternal damnation, and there were very few Ghosts around.
Helena Dusklight: Yeah, this isn't just about me wanting an undead army. I'm only going to be using this on those stuck in Muspelheim, as well as certain Ghosts like Necky's.
Helena Dusklight: The way I see it I'm helping them, by giving them another chance at life through undeath.
Helena Dusklight: And yes, I've got a suitable test subject for this. Some piece of trash Balrothist who was executed for sacrificing innocent children to Balroth.
Helena Dusklight: …If something bad happens to him, I couldn't care less.
Helena Blackheart: Very well then, Helena Dusklight. You have our blessing in this endeavor, not that you ever needed it.
Helena leveled up in the wilderness surrounding Shadewood, regularly returning to Svartalfheim for equipment and supplies.
She also trained in Svartalfheim, learning from the best and brightest of their Dark Magi, in preparation for her plans…
At the age of 12, Helena was ready to attempt to do the impossible: to raise the dead.
She entered Shadewood Cemetery and located the grave of Slick Rotfink, the infamous Balrothist who had murdered 13 innocent children in a botched demon Summoning ritual.
Helena (Age 12): Well, this is it. Time to get digging…
She dug up his grave and opened his coffin, and found his surprisingly clean skeleton inside.
She made sure to clean the bones thoroughly, as her magic could only bind souls to either bone or fossil, and any rotting flesh left on his skeleton would interfere with the Soul Binding process.
Helena: Alright, are you ready Necky?
Necky: Of course, and I'm sure you are as well.
Helena began to recite her Dark Magic incantation to summon forth Slick Rotfink's soul from Muspelheim.
His soul appeared before her as a Ghost.
Slick: …Where am I?
Slick: Where is all the Hellfire and brimstone? And where are all of those horrid demons…?
Helena: I summoned you back here to Midgard, as a part of a magic experiment.
Helena: Now tell me… Are you grateful to me, Helena Dusklight, your savior?
Slick: Yes! Yes! I am! Thank you Helena Dusklight!
Slick: Although I worshipped it during my life, I hate Balroth now. I served it loyally for all those years, only to be tortured by it and its hordes of demons.
Slick: …You are my Master now. What do you wish of me, Oh Great One?
Helena: All I want is for you to repent, and to see the error of your evil ways.
Helena: And if you seek to atone for your past sins, then join me, as I'm planning to kill that former "god" of yours, as well as the war god Adaman.
Slick: Wait… You hate Adaman too, Oh Great One?
Slick: Those who put me to death did so because I worshipped the false god Balroth instead of Adaman, and you're telling me that I should worship neither of them…?
Slick: Then who should I worship, Oh Great One? You? Or perhaps that terrifying skeletal Dragon by your side?
Helena: Well, while I'm probably powerful enough to get away with playing God, I'd rather not, And Necky here isn't interested in that either.
Helena: Just worship any god or goddess that isn't an evil piece of garbage. One like Evelyn, or even one of the nature gods or something.
Helena: Hell, if you wanted to you could even become a Draconist like me, although I doubt that you're cut out for that…
Slick: …Worship Evelyn? I had never even considered that before…
Slick: Evelynists were always the most hated of all the heretics, because they believed in peace instead of war.
Slick: …Have things in Evilonia truly changed that much, Oh Great One?
Helena: Not quite, but I'm going to be changing them soon, starting with our psychotic current queen, Misandria.
Helena: You see, I'm going to be amassing an undead army to put on a little show for my future "mom" the queen, as well as to help me achieve my many goals. Do you want to join me?
Slick: Yes, Oh Great One! I would be glad to serve you, My Savior!
Slick: And from now on I shall worship the Peace Goddess Evelyn, and I shall never murder anyone again!
Helena: That's good to hear.
Helena: If a Balrothist like you can repent and change their ways, then I can definitely save all of those poor souls who were forced to worship Adaman during their lifetimes, and that were sent to go die in some stupid war that only our psychopath queen and her evil little puppet masters want.
Helena then proceeded to try and bind his soul to his skeleton, and it was a complete success.
He was thrilled to have his old body again (even though it was just his skeleton), as well as to be forgiven for his horrible past sins.
Afterwords she put his soul into a Phylactery to store it, and put both his skeleton and his Phylactery into her Magical Rucksack.
She then proceeded to dig up the graves of every person who worshipped an evil god (most of whom were Adamantists) in Shadewood Cemetery, successfully summoning the souls of every person condemned to eternal damnation in Muspelheim, and successfully reattaching each of their souls back to the skeletons of their former bodies.
By age 13 she had amassed a small undead army, one that would surely impress her future adoptive mother Queen Misandria, as well as be helpful in her quest to save Midgard from the ongoing World War, and to free all those currently trapped in Muspelheim for all eternity.
When the time came she was brought before the queen herself, in her royal palace in the Evilonian capitol city of Palatia.
Misandria: Well well well… If it isn't the famous Helena Dusklight, the little girl with the "Freak Gene"…
Misandria: Now tell me… Are all of the rumors that I've heard about you true? Did you really train with the Drow in Svartalfheim? And can you really raise the dead…?
Helena (Age 13): Damn! You're pretty slow, considering that you're "royalty" and all…
Helena: Of course I can do those things, and I can do a helluva lot more, too!
Helena: …All that family inbreeding must have done a number on your intelligence, hahaha! This blog was originally divided into 2 parts, due solely to my 2DS's text limit back when I first wrote it.
At that point in time, I chose to disable comments on Part 1, and to only allow them on Part 2, so if you're interested in reading the comments that were made on this blog back then, then click here.
Here's another Glossary, to explain all of the weird terms I use, and who everybody is:
Aesir (Name is from Norse Mythology.)
The original Gods who inhabitted Asgard, before the Current World Order began.
Alfheim (Name is from Norse Mythology.)
In MoD, this is the portion of Asgard which is still currently occupied by the Light Elves, as well as the Tenshi (Angels), and the Aesir (the original Asgardian Gods).
Balroth (Name is a combination of both Balrog and Morgoth, as well as both Baal, and roth, which means red in German. Balroth is also known as "The Snake", after the Serpent in the Garden of Eden.)
MoD's version of The Devil.
They are the God of Evil, and have ruled over Muspelheim ever since the Current World Order began.
They are considered an Evil, non-humanoid God.
Current World Order (from the Conspiracy Theorist term "New World Order".)
The way the World functions ever since Datenshi struck Midgard, 65 MYA.
In the Current World Order, those who Worship Evil Gods go to Muspelheim, those who Worship Good Gods go to Vanaheim, and those who Worship Neutral Gods, such as the Nature Gods, become Ghosts, and reside in Midgard for all Eternity.
Dark Magic
Basically, this is what in most Fantasy Games would be considered Necromancy, minus the whole "Raising the Dead" part.
In MoD, that Raising The Dead is unique to Helena Dusklight.
(Or is it?)
Draconism
The Oldest known Religion.
It was the Religion of the Dragons and their Kin, Millions of years ago, and is also the Official State Religion of Akushina, and is widely practiced there.
Unlike the people of Evilonia, the Akushinese have Religious Freedom, however.
Drow
The Dark Elves.
They once ruled over all of Helheim, but when the Current World Order began, they were driven out of most of their homeland, by Balroth and their Demonic hordes.
They now reside in Svartalfheim.
Elves
The oldest of the humanoid races (other than some of the Fairy Folk, to whom they are closely related), there are 3 main categories of Elves: The Dark Elves of Helheim, the Light Elves of Asgard, and the various Nature Elves of Midgard.
While the Dark and Light Elves mainly Worship the Primal Gods of Death and Life respectively, the Nature Elves mostly Worship Evelyn, the Peace Goddess.
Evelyn (From Eve, Elven, and Evangelical.)
The Goddess of Peace.
She resides within Alfheim, alongside all of the other Aesir, as well as the Light Elves, and the Tenshi (Angels).
Her Worship, known as Evelynism, is widely practiced (albeit secretly) in Evilonia, and it is also the Official State Religion of Velnir.
Although the Velnirese do have Religious Freedom, most of them Worship her, anyway.
Go to Hell
A Dark Magic Spell that Teleports the Caster to Svartalfheim.
Helena Blackheart
The Empress of The Drow.
She is the most powerful Dark Mage alive (other than Helena Dusklight), and has an IPP/IMP rating of 10/14, as well as the "Darkness Gene".
Magical Rucksack
A Magical bag that can carry a nearly infinite amount of items.
(In RPG terms, it's your Inventory.)
Mordecai Grimsoul
The head of the Dark Elven Dark Mages Guild.
He is the 2nd most powerful Dark Magi among the Drow, and has an IPP/IMP rating of 9/12.
Muspelheim (Name is from Norse Mythology)
The portion of Helheim now occupied by Balroth and their Demons.
This is where those who Worship Evil Gods go, and are tortured there by Balroth and their minions for all Eternity.
Old World Order (From the Conspiracy Theorist term "New World Order".)
The way the World worked before Datenshi struck Midgard, 65 MYA.
Back then, rather than going to Asgard or Helheim, all those who died became Ghosts, until they found a suitable Body to reincarnate into.
Also, neither Asgard nor Helheim were divided back then, and those who now reside within Alfheim and Svartalfheim inhabitted ALL of Asgard and Helheim respectively.
Slick Rotfink
An infamous Balroth Worshipper who lived in Shadewood long ago, and was executed after sacrificing 13 innocent children to Balroth, in a botched Demon Summoning Ritual.
Svartalfheim (Name is from Norse Mythology.)
The portion of Helheim where the Drow now reside.
Vanaheim (Name is from Norse Mythology.)
The region of Asgard where the Vanir (the Gods who appeared after the Current World Order began) reside.
