I rest my case. *For the first one (Home Menu Button) All you have to do on dsi is quickly press and release the power button instead of holding it. For the second (eShop) If your talking about buying games for your dsi/3ds on there the dsi has the Dsi Shop! And last but never least (Electronic Manuals) All the stuff on dsi has an electronic help or tutorial on it. Just had to say, take those off the list.

Are we forgetting that the DSi has more battery powers, we can upload movies via realplay from a pc and we have a easier method of control.

My 3DS is a relic, to me. When Nintendo Power ended publication, I quit playing my Nintendo systems. I no longer know what to buy for them, and this is the first time in 8 months that I've switched on my 3DS. Now, I only play indie PC games.

I haven't even bothered to get a 3ds, still think about it but no real need for me to get one, also haven't turned my dsixl on in about as long as Jack above with his 3ds. Usually login on my laptop whenever I get around too coming back here. :D

DSi had a great era in my opinion.

i forgot they did stop making ds games. if i had a dsi that worked and was mine, i probably would make dsi browser games. it feels kind of late for that though. well at least theres still dsiware every now and then.

They still produce DS games and sell DSi units, although both are on their way out. Pokémon X & Y marks the major handheld titles shifting from DS to 3DS (similar manner to Final Fantasy III DS). DSi is the current default system for DS software and has been for over two years. 3DS and 2DS both support backward compatibility; that feature will probably be a keeper until the next handheld platform rolls out per promise of no "3DS Lite". DSiWare will stick around due to availability from the eShop.

So keep expecting 3DSPaint's popularity to increase in leaps and bounds.

Catch my drift.

Ok, so I've come up with a new reasons why, I'm not going to be biased or one sided. 1. Rp rooms: they were the most attention to most members of the site, chatrooms every night or so, was packed or people were on.
2. Ages: no brainer, people get older and move on, but the new flock comes in and are very...shall I say "uneducated" which drives the old ones away.
3. Dsi is considered last gen: sad to say it but dsi was last generation, and I know there is a 3dspaint but by now, people are on iPhones and get to text others now, making this site obsolete.

Gotta be careful when generalising about the relationship between online communities and how the respective hardware is used. Console browsers such as the Wii's are very trivial, the community gained major traction singularly from the portable DSi browser, and it went from there. Without DSiPaint, 3DSPaint would be a flat-out flop or not even exist. The fact that kids/teens grow up to own phones for multimedia and texting purposes is about the devices' versatility versus playing games on the go; that's hardware and what they are designed to do. However, some users continue to engage in SDK from their phones and even computers. It isn't in the spirit of this website's namesake(s), but it keeps the community active for those who want it that way. Activity is lessened because the progenitor DSi is old, the dam of online "need" has been largely breached (npi), and there is currently no similar replacement stemming from current gen which is 3DS.
