Hull mentions a sequel to the Overlords game in his blog. He hopes to get it done by this year.

WOW! That looks soooo exciting! I hope The 3DS has flipnote hatena so i don't have to ditch that... If it does I might think about getting it! It looks waaayyyyyyyy better than the other ds systems! Its like my dsi upgrade! lol I'm actually gunna make some money. Plus I'm saving up. I will be getting a phone soon so i will have to pay the bill for that though. I just gotta get the 3DS!

The sequel will be released for the 3DS browser. It's unknown if it will be playable or not on the DSi browser.

I'm hoping that the sequel's gameplay will improve--from a fairly simple grind to possibly a more nuanced strategy game that makes you think.

Jakey, it takes time, and with the 3DS browser more possibilities for games open up.

I'm wondering how similar the upcoming game will be to the current game that is focused on actions and battles.

And if it is a direct sequel, then it "should" pick up from becoming an Overlord. There's nothing that comes after Overlord, so maybe there will be an approach from a totally different angle.

A few little ideas:
- Battle system that involves some "skill" (possibly turn-based action "duels"--which could lead to real-time battles with players)
- Rewards for ranking up.
- New characters such as Mrs. Skunk or maybe even Mitchie.
- Variation in battling different NPCs.
- Avatars for the NPCs.
