A nice addition to the current ban system is to make banned users not be able to read the forums or actually not being able to do very much on the site at all. This would make people think twice before spamming.
Deth, there are contraints to language, and all "cuss" words allowed are proper in context. It's just that no one seems to care about context. You already can't post on the forums when you're banned, which I think is fair enough. Problem is some people literally have nothing to do but be on DSiPaint. But I suppose that's their problem.
Maybe they should be logged out, and can't log back in until the next 24 hours. A good idea would be that admins can choose how much time a member is banned. For example, if AOD was a banned a second time, Halianne could ban him for 48 hours.
Communism: You have more water, everyone has more water!
Hull is going to leave it at a 24 hour ban. If the user misbehaves again, they'll be issued another 24 hour ban. If they become a problem, then more will likely be done. But if I were hull, I'd leave it at 24 hour bans. Besides, I think it'd be treated quite unfairly. For example, "I don't like this guy so, when he needs to get banned, I'll give him the 48 hours instead!" or "This guy is my friend... And I don't want him to be banned too long even though he probably deserves a 48 hour ban... *24 hour ban*" It's just not fair.
I love it when a plan comes together like buttcheeks.
@DC I do agree that proof is often scant, but no one in this thread has yet said otherwise.
There are many ways to do harm to this site and its community, even if one is banned for 24 hours. For miffed users, that is definitely not out of the question. They may use blogs, paints, sprites, or profile comments to communicate their likely bitter sentiments. A solution might be a ban which only allows the banned user to view the website, and disables their ability to post content of any kind. As the current 24-hour ban is regarded mainly as a slap on the wrist, the latter solution would certainly make one think twice before committing an offense.
Look, if a member becomes a persistent offender,[on a large scale,] you Perma them. We don't need longer bans, we need more rule-following members. Make the rules better displayed, ie: Instead of the usual greeting when entering a Chatroom[Welcome to DSiPaint Chatroom! For a Command List, type /help.
For a Rules list, type /rules.]
The rules should just be there, and users can type /rules when they need to read them again. The rules are slapping them in the face when they enter a room, perhaps less banning.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
