Hey! I've been able to abstain from posting in this thread. :D Wait...crap, ruined.
Any who, this is one of those topics where it's an ongoing issue isn't something that can be resolved per se. However, if past arguments end up being repeated (which they seem to have been...for months) it should probably be locked sometime in the near future.

In my opinion, abortions should be allowed. I mean, it's their baby, they can do what they want with it before it's born.

Haha, no. You're confusing domination with a greater population. True dominance is illustrated by the area that a species controls, hence humans are the dominant species overall. We have the ability to shape our environment to our liking and fitting, whether good or not. You don't have to take my word for it, Wikipedia states the same.

Oh really? Never knew that... /sarcasm . It isn't necessarily that humans are"scared" of the wilderness, simply that it doesn't suit us anymore. And humans can kill any of the creatures you mentioned without any particular biological advantages (not brain power, I'm referring to venom and the like).

They may "control" more land, but flies directly benifit from the actions of humans such as growing crops, dumping trash, releasing feces, etc. Humans do not benifit from the actions of flies, and have failed to exterminate them.

Because you cannot exterminate an entire population of a varied species that repopulates so quickly, not to mention the small size of most fly species. And do you realize how foolishness trying to go and intentionally exterminate an entire species?

There are benefits from flies, they help with decomposition and we use their larvae for feed(poultry/livestock/fish)and bait.

Well while flies can carry things and be gross, I'd think rats or mosquitos would be worse for than. Mosquitos actually suck blood from various creatures, possibly giving a disease to you, and rats are known for carrying disease, as long as you don't let a fly land on your food you should be fine and even if it does chances are it just stepped in normal feces or something which sounds gross, but your body can easily take care of the small amount of anything that would be there.

This is kinda off topic though, don't really know how we got to talking about this.

Did you just compare a household pest with a population decimating virus? again, we have absolutely no reason for going out and exterminating them. You seem to ignore that purposely destroying an entire species disrupts ecosystems. And doing so for a species as populous as flies would have massive repercussions, destroying a virus does not.
