Wow.. just seriously. When was it ever a problem useing anything copyrighted in your videos. I never heard Nintendo, Sony etc. complaining about people showing videos of them useing there games and systems.
Our goverment is so hard up on needing money that now we are going to fine people who upload videos that consist of copyrighted material just so they just can get money.
Don't argue with idiots because they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience.
"Tee Hee" would most likely be copyrighted BY Ryan higa, as he and Sean use it mostly. Then, anyone using it as a meme or Video would have to pay Royalties.
yes, you're actually NOT supposed to put up copyrighted songs/games/movie scenes/etc, ie; ANYTHING MADE. However, people can currently get around this by doing 'Lyric Versions" of songs, "Reviews" of games, and probably Movie Reviews as well, mostly because YouTube counts on us, the Users, to "Flag Violating Material."
Real smart, Google. XD
If I remember correctly, Nintendo had a large broom up their ass back in January when Serebii.net was covering the Black and White info.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
Well, just think of all of the idiots posting free music on youtube like "Katy Perry Song *LYRICS*"
Instead of going and watching the VEVO video, and earning the artist a penny, you're watching a stolen piece of crap.
Goodbye my only friend. Oh, did you think I meant you?
How is this dumb? You're stealing copyrighted stuff.. You can't just take a bunch of info and books and videos and use them in a school project, that's illegal too.
If everybody downloaded free music, read books online, watched movies/tv on youtube/other website, etc, then the people wouldn't have any money to make more movies, music, etc. ALTHOUGH, if you cited your sources properly, wouldn't you be allowed to use short clips of music/video for a youtube video? This wouldn't apply to.. for example posting a whole movie on youtube, because there's that law about uhh I forget what it's called, something about not being allowed to show movies to a large amount of people(other than theatres legally, obviously...)
Syed, no offense, but it will screw either the Artists making the content we enjoy, or no one. Personally, if it means I can enjoy the official version, great.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
Although I 100% agree that posting movies, TV shows, music videos, or other copyrighted works in full on YouTube can and should be met with the full force of private lawsuits (not more government regulations), the idea of persecuting for recording video game footage seems to me as stupid as Crayola fining someone for selling a picture drawn with their crayons. A time attack or exposed secret in a game takes work on the player's part, so the footage is always different. Doesn't this fall under the Fair Use clause for educational purposes?
Good analogy, I believe so, Hull. I'm also sure it would simply fall under "User-Created Content" on YouTube, which is how all those "Lyrics" Videos get up there.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
This is pathetic. I guess only who gets money with youtube should be submitted to that law, who gets nothing with youtube gets nothing with it so what is the point to fine someone using an image of a game to make a review for simple pleasure o.O" ...
