Obama could easily drop gas prices to $2.00 per gallon in just a few days time. He just has to push the SEC to raise the margin buying requirements for oil speculators, and he has to lift the bans he put in place for drilling in the Gulf of Mexico and Alaska. Unfortunately, he has no clue how the economy works because anyone with even the basic knowledge of the economy understands what drives the price of commodities. That is why a businessman always makes a better president than an attorney. Herman Cain 2012!

There are plenty of candidates on the Republican side who are debating against each other to "weed out" the others, and find the one that seems like the best shot, according to the people.

We are a Republic, Ram. Avoiding after the Revolutionary War, we established,"The people's choice" since we hated the monarchy setup we recently had. So we call it the Republic System.

In a democracy, the populace has to convene for a vote on every matter. Since that it not feasible in a nation as large as the USA (even at the time of the founding), a republic was set up, where periodic elections would allow chosen representatives to speak for the people, saving considerable time.
