While there aren't many Rock-types that get Moves or Abilities that benefit from Sandstorms, you can always throw in some Ground-types (many of which do get such Abilities) and/or Steel-types, just like Steven Stone does.
(Even though he's more of a Steel-type Trainer than a Rock-type Trainer, I suppose.)
2. Offense
Rock is actually one of the best offensive Types there is, and it's Super Effective against Fire, Ice, Flying, and Bug-types, while you only have to worry about Fighting, Ground, and Steel-types.
Rock Blast is a slightly more accurate (albeit weaker) alternative to Stone Edge, with the added benefit of hitting the opponent multiple times (which can be handy sometimes), and while Rock Tomb and Smack Down aren't that strong, their secondary effects can sometimes be handy.
For those few Rock-types with higher Sp. Attack, you don't have many choices of Moves (Rock-type Moves, anyway), and it's basically just a choice between Ancient Power (my preference, due to that 10% chance of a Stats increase), or the slightly stronger Move, Power Gem.
In addition to the Sandstorm Strategy, and (typically) having a high Defense Stat, Rock-types also often have useful defensive Abilities, too.
Sturdy is an EXTREMELY useful Ability (in Gen 5 and beyond), and it's basically like having a built-in Focus Sash.
Solid Rock is another great Ability, which can be combined with damage reducing Berries to greatly reduce the damage taken by Super Effective Moves.
For example, Rhyperior takes 4× damage from Water or Grass-type Moves, but if it has Solid Rock, and is holding a Passho or Rindo Berry, the damage is only 1.5×, 62.5% less than normal.
While Rock-types may have good defensive Stats and Abilities, they have many weaknesses (Water, Grass, Fighting, Ground, and Steel), and it's not uncommon for these weaknesses to overlap with those of their secondary Types, which can be a MAJOR problem.

Thanks! I appreciate it!
I actually did get this featured later on, though, with some help from @Tulipsoflove . (It's in a separate blog, but it's just an exact copy of this one.)
Dragon is a more stronger offensive type though, can’t believe you would say that xD earth is generally the one with powerful move types and it just has great coverage. Stone edge is only like 80 base power lol. And it’s annoying with miss chance. Every other rock move kind of sucks in comparison. (We don’t talk about rock blast + skill link)
No idea about the specific trainer class blogs. But yeah sandstorm teams are 100% meta. I’m not a fan though cause bulky water types with scald just make your team such a pain. A lot of rock/earth types are physical sweepers too. So the burn chance really cripples you. Tyranitar is great tho lol.
Also I can’t believe you would miss weakness policy + Rhyperior.
Why on earth can't Thi leave Comments like yours, lol?
But yeah, I agree with pretty much everything you said (especially what you said about Dragon-type, and that Weakness Policy+Rhyperior thing, lol), with one slight correction: Stone Edge is 100 base Power (in Gens 4-7, anyway), and 80 Accuracy.
(You weren't far off, though.)
But regardless of whether or not you could get away with a Monotype Team in Competitions, you agree with me that nothing in this Blog is "misinformation", as Thi claims it is, right?
(And I already know there's plenty of people here besides me that don't have Gen 8, so that's a pretty lame excuse for rejecting it.)
Yeah and sadly most rock types benefit from the ability to learn earthquake TBH. Ground types are superior. The only difference being you have flying type coverage. But nobody would throw a flying type into an earth type without doing a double switch. Because ground types typically run the same type of coverage anyway.
This blog is just general information lol, you can easily obtain this info from the game. So yeah this one isn’t fake news at least.
Well, at least you're looking at what it is, and offering genuine criticism, rather than coming up with bogus claims of "misinformation" (which are never backed up by any concrete facts, BTW), or claiming that it shouldn't be featured simply because it doesn't cover Gen 8.
(Which he immediately dropped, as soon as I reminded him of how many people here are still playing the older games.)
If I'm going to have my 6th Blog in the Series be rejected, just minutes after I submit it, and have to listen to Thi of all people use the same bogus excuses he always uses, to reject a factually accurate Blog (again, regardless of whether or not it is deemed impractical by Competitive Players, it is NOT "misinformation", that tries to teach people about Rock-types, when all of my similar Blogs weren't rejected, I better hear a real reason for rejecting it.
Well, I tried to stick exclusively to Rock-types (Excadrill is Ground/Steel), but it would be one of those "Ground-types that can benefit from a Sandstorm" that I mentioned in the Blog.
(In other words: I did mention it, just indirectly.)
I mean again this blog evolves more into a sandstorm team guide anyway. People aren’t really into sticking to NPC trainers like you are. Ruin maniacs don’t even use rock types exclusively. If i recall there’s ruin maniacs who use Bronzor a lot. Who’s not even a rock type. So there you go.
And while I do (briefly) refer to Sandstorm Teams more broadly, this Blog (like all of the previous Blogs in this Series) focuses primarily on a single Type.
(In this case: Rock.)
I have every intention of doing Blogs about all sorts of Teams in the future (including Sandstorm ones), but this Blog is about Rock-types, and I wanted to focus on them in it.
And remember: There are legitimate reasons to use an exclusively Rock-type Team in B2/W2.
(I assume you know the 2 things I'm referring to here, correct?)
You do realize how many people here are still playing Gen 4, right?
Not everyone here is a competive player with the latest games (in fact, few people here are), and you'd do well to remember that.
Also, every other blog in this series was featured without any issues, so if you're going to reject a blog a (literally) stayed up all night writing, minutes after I submit, you better have a better excuse reason than that.
don't have time to go over everything wrong with these blogs but to summarize, its misinformation. so many things you put in these blogs are just flat out wrong. if it were up to me i would have none of them featured. do your damn research before posting this stuff Jesus Christ
I assume you were either referring to your time as an Admin, or your time playing competitively, then.
(I misunderstood what you meant.)
Still, everything else I said is valid, and you've not stated anything specifically "misinformational" about my blog.
(Which means apparently those websites I used to fact-check everything are accurate, after all.)
What "criticism"? You haven't given any other than saying their blogs have "misinformation". Next time, please give actual criticism and not silly vague statements.
And another benefit of Stealth Rock is that by damaging your opponents when they're first sent out (even by a small amount), you can mess up things that only work at full HP, such as the Abilities Multiscale and Sturdy, as well as Held Item Focus Sash.
Also, Rock Polish is an AWESOME Move, learnable by pretty much all Rock-types, that can help those slower ones speed themselves up a bit (by which I mean a 100% Speed increase with each use), and can be combined quite effectively with Rock Slide.
Many Rock-types can get Shell Smash, as well, which provides the same Speed increase that Rock Polish does, as well as increasing Attack and Sp. Attack by the same amount.
(You lose some Defense and Sp. Defense with it, though.)
As for Mega Evolutions, you have 3 choices: Aerodactyl, Tyranitar, and Diancie.
Mega Aerodactyl's Ability is great (IMO), and it also gets a nice Stat increase, while Tyranitar gets a Stat increase, but retains it's usual Sand Stream Ability.
(Or loses it's Hidden Ability if it had it.)
Mega Diancie is probably the best of these (not that many people have one), as it increases it's Attack, Sp. Attack and Speed Stats a TON (at the expense of it's defensive Stats, though), and gives it the EXTREMELY powerful Magic Bounce Ability, which reflects Status Moves back on your opponent!
