On the subject of what I like to cal "The Teenager Conundrum", I can say right now that pretty much every teenager I know or have contact with has not been a reckless hump-happy drunk. So, really, it is the teenager's choice. I personally agree with neon, it would be even worse for the kid to be born into such hands, rather than "Teach the Teen a lesson about responsibility", when they clearly lack any common sense to begin with. It's irresponsible of people to force the Teen to carry it to term.
Furthermore, though this is not a Religious Thread, as Tora said last page, not everyone believes in the Bible. Some do, some don't. So your Bible does not govern the rest of everyone else' thoughts. Understand?
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
I am not brainwashed. You can't be expected to understand my view unless you believe in the Bible. God says he knew us before we were put in our mother's womb. So keep your sad and murderous opinions; I can't expect you to get it unless you're a Christian.
And it's possible, if on tiptoes, to stand between the raindrops.
Exactly.. you have a belief. You. We have another belief. You follow yours and do what you want, and we'll do what we think is right and everybody lives happily ever after. Not everybody thinks abortions are bad, so they can get them if they need to. You think they are bad, so you can not get one. Fin.
I hope we aren't getting back into arguing what is considered "alive" again. I see no reason no to consider a fetus "alive" when plants are considered as such. some of you need to learn the difference between alive and having a consciousness. :U
I think ram is right, we're more or less treading the same paths as have been spoken of for months. I think this should still be left open as I'm sure many would like to let their opinions be heard.
@neon That doesn't really hold any water. Say for example, a baby was born and was somehow in a coma. If I never considered that baby to be alive, then would it still "not be murder"?
This subject can confuse a lot. =_=
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
Exactly.. it's not like it's an easy choice for the mother to make either as I said a few pages back.. they are probably going to be fairly upset about it, too.
Exactly, we kill bugs, some people hunt for sport (hunting for food/clothes is fine with me), we put cats/dogs "to sleep" (some perfectly healthy), but apparently a clump of non sentient cells that can't survive on their own is too much, or something.
@panzer123/neongirlx
The rhetoric that the killing of what one sees as inferior is okay or excusable has been used by countless mass murderers throughout history, including Adolf Hitler. Wait to go.
And like I mentioned before, if you support the protection of trees and other non-sentient beings, then it would be hypocritical to not do so for a fetus.
I think I'll stop posting here for a bit since I seem to bring nothing new to the table usually.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
If you are not going to the Abortion Clinic, and you are not the husband[wife?] of the person getting the abortion, and you are not involved in any way with that person, then you ought to leave them alone. It is not your business. They're not doing this just to spite you for no reason. So just let them make their choices, and live their lives. Have I made myself clear again?
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
Pro-life bro. I'm with people having their own choices, but killing a baby is too far. If you can't take care of it, give it up for adoption. Just don't kill a baby.
For the five-hundreth billionth time, It's not a baby yet, it's a fetus. Seriously, it's like your not even reading the last page or two of this thread and posting to it.
@Drip
Communism: You have more water, everyone has more water!
@drwho15 If you knew anything about physics, especially quantum physics and special relativity, you wouldn't be saying that. Physics is progressing to the point where its basic laws are being called into question.
Like Drip said, this isn't a religious debate blog.
It's my job to help the next generation, and set a good example for them. And for that I'll gladly lay down my life.
Drip, the two subjects are rather close-knit, though. It's doable to not mention Religion, but then some people use it as a figurative 'weapon' of sorts, to defend their opinion.
Whoa bro, better slow down bro, don't wanna be a bro, bro.
Off Topic: This is the mos posted in thread I believe.
To try and spur some new thoughts and posts, what would you all say if the government enacted a law that affected the legality of abortions (either way)? What would your reaction be?
