“Hey, all! Wow, is it 2023 already? I never thought what started as a few tech demos for the Wii browser in 2007 would grow into a community across several Nintendo platforms and mobile devices during the next 16 years! As the SDK Community has grown and evolved over these years, I have met so many amazing people from diverse backgrounds and walks of life who all came together to contribute to this social gaming and art community.

There have actually been multiple times in the 16 years when I’ve considered selling or even completely discontinuing the websites, as life has become busy in other areas; however, I’m always drawn back by the members and the nostalgia of all the great times we’ve had. Remember when features like the chatroom gameshows were slapped together in an evening to give a months of fun? Or how about all those launch parties for new games, like OverlorDS, or teaser demos for The Mystical Journey? Don’t forget all the Mario Kart and Smash Bros. parties!

The past has been exciting, but what about the future? Lately, the SDK Community has been evolving behind-the-scenes for a more modern age. Much of the groundwork that is quietly being laid will allow for integrating the community between other apps and games by HullBreach Studios. They will be able to use real-time data like commodity prices, currency exchange rates, etc., to create virtual worlds that represent the real world. We would like to open an API to third-party developers to link accounts to game leaderboards, matchmaking, and other features. I can’t predict everything the future will hold for the SDK Community, but I hope to see as many of you as possible join us for the ride!”

I saw about StarShadow's passing & wanted to give good wishes to her friends & family. Even though i barely knew her. I hope everyone is doing okay. I just wanted to say what i remember of Angela.

We chatted a few times in paint chat, she seemed nice at first. Though we didn't talk much after. We worked on same mod team for paint for a short while, before she was promoted to overlord.

Overall, i think she was a good person, although, we had our disagreements and such. She was still a good person. She meant a lot to a LOT of people on paint, helped a lot of people here. She positively impacted the lives of so many members here in so many ways and for all the good she has done, she should be remembered.

So now that TDK/Venith has a custom domain available, we shall occasionally give them out to TDKers. Affiliates/non-TDK frens will also gain a custom Venith domain unless they already have their own domain. It may be a bit of a mess with domains for now because I'm still trying to sort everything out, but this will be very nice. On another note, we're gonna have a more regular podcast/blog on Venith. I will also begin attempting to actually grow both VenithNET and CrazyHellTechnologies with @MattFromSpace on 3DSPaint. This is the start of a revolution, and I am glad you will all be here to witness this rise to power again. TDK shall win, SDK shall rise again, the feds shall fall.

First of all the things here, I would like to thank you for helping me deal with the admins BS for over a year now even if I'm finally at a point where I probably wouldn't be bailed out if I got banned again. Also, I would like to say congrats for keeping your top group semi-active even while you've been unable to go online. I hope you get Overlord one day too, I'd love to have an overlord who's actually ultra active on Paint. HB is busy with life (not like he'd likely be active in most if any groups) and even Divine I've never seen in groups, though at least chatrooms tho thats the same for HB once or twice.

I also hope your Yandex Lite link I sent you works on your device, if it doesn't then yea I'd have to help you anyways. Although I should eventually have a venith.net email system going. whenever possible, I'll actually let you send 100MB of files instead of the usual 25MB or less most services allow as email files get annoying as hell a lot of the time. Btw, email security can get pretty good if you know what you're doing. If you ever manage to get a computer, I got some good software (including for emails) that would help out a lot with privacy when messaging other people. In this I will note TextNow phone numbers which may be possible to use if a site forced u to input one when signing up, also don't use ProtonMail as your main email. 4096-PGP keys are very good for encryption and they're free when using a custom client like Mozilla Thunderbird which ProtonMail doesn't allow because they suck.

Seriously, its pathetic you have to pay for an email bridge. But yea, if you managed to get a PC I'll help you out there with actually good software. You could install Linux too if you really wanted to put the time to learn it, but Windows 10 is easier anyways. I remember in groups you said you might move out soon, if so I hope things go well for you. It is pretty tough out there I've heard, though I trust you can make it. I'd probably also see if you could make money online because the more money the better obviously. Life ain't all about money, but lets not deny its better with a billion dollars than without. You practically kickstarted my web-development career. Seriously, you taught me CSS whenever I wanted to do groups/profiles. You gave me the resources originally, you practically got my front-end web-development career off the ground. Now I just gotta figure out the backend, but I hope you know that you damn well helped me out. I actually would go as far as to argue you were one of the most helping people to me when you were very active back in 2021.

Also I remember when it was just me, you, DedSec, Nadu-Nadu, and sometimes Weeeheeep or Draconid_Jo active on the site. We would just fuck around all day, doing whatever we wanted. We could be as edgy as we wanted, meme around, fun times. I actually sometimes wish Paint would've stayed that way. The site so dead that the only way you'd get admin issues was if you blatantly broke the rules in front of them without even trying to hide it, the only rule basically being "dont be a complete beyond saving immoral piece of shit" (aka no CP or anything like that, spam was kinda tolerated in these days because most of us could clear it out fast enough to not mean much even if we got spammed multiple times). Fun times, it feels like yesterday you could do that type of stuff on Paint still. Alas, we're in late-2023 now instead of early-2022 so the goal is just to get it so active again that I can at least justify not breaking the rules for any reason other than keeping groups.

You were a real one and still are, you were also my only actual rival back when Turtle Society was still up. Us just going at it for the most activity, most members, etc. You just had fun and fucked around, you know had things just gone a tiny bit differently I wouldn't be anywhere near the same. Though to be fair once I got good at CSS, there was no stopping DCE/TDK because while you can make a group, TDK can make one that lasts 1000 years. I actually would be interested to see a rival group though, I believe its kinda necessary to keeping TDK not boring. It (to an extent) thrives off of having someone to be better than. Hell, a lot of the original power we gained was back when the admin wars had just started. Or whenever I was still actively attempting to manage literally every site instead of sticking to a smaller selection of sites and actually playing my cards carefully. One thing though, never make a Minecraft edit again because you're gonna turn into a MC YouTuber and then you'll be a pedophile in 10 years (we all know where the MC youtubers end up, become a redpill YouTuber instead).

You have probably been one of the people I've talked to the most in 2023, even in 2022 I believe I talked to you quite a lot though. Even if I would've not deleted my account, I can't go back to check because I was banned on 1/4/2023 as you know, but whatever. Your songs are actually pretty damn good and they're not even something I usually listen to, can't wait to see more of them. Also, TDK supremacy. I do hope 100MB file uploads will help you out, I'd give 500MB to you for free, but I can't afford that much XD so even for the best of friends I'd have to charge if its not being done to test the feature, plus bandwidth costs big big monies and I'd probably have to force my own SMTP server only for that (i cant tell if u can use other SMTPs on email even when they're not ur provider or if thats not the case). If I could afford it though, it would probably be getting the money faster than I'd run out of space so I could get a few ridiculous sized hard-drives easily before then anyways (like several 18TB hard-drives). Uhhhh note about POP3 tho, the data is stored on your hard-drives so be careful with that XD. u could either lose data if something goes wrong or run out of space. Though its nice and I think u can mass import msgs on Thunderbird.

First of all, I'd like to apologize for giving you such a hard time about you not battling me on Pokémon Showdown last year, and also for all of that stuff with DCTheGamr.
(And contrary to some of what I've said here on Paint in the past, IK that that initial offer of yours to battle me on Showdown was sincere.)

Anyway, you're probably the best Overlord that Paint has ever had (or ever will have), and I appreciate how you always took a democratic approach to admin decisions, even when I personally disagreed with the outcome.

I am also VERY appreciative of everything that you have done for those community members here who (like myself) had complicated RL situations to deal with, and while I unfortunately still haven't followed your advice on how to handle my own RL problems, I'm sure that I'll quit being an idiot go ahead and do it eventually.

I also appreciate how AWESOME you were at Pokémon, and how you always treated me with respect as a fellow veteran Pokémon player, and how you actually took the time to try and teach me about some of the differences between competitive Pokémon battling and the more casual stuff that I had been used to.
(Which is of course why I always considered myself to be your "apprentice".)

You REALLY need to quit antagonizing the admins so much though (not that I'm exactly innocent in that regard either), before you wind up getting hit by the Perma Axe again and it takes you out for good this time.
(Which is a VERY real possibility.)

Still, you have obviously done a lot of good here on Paint as well (regardless of what the other admins might say), and MAYBE if you can quit causing so much discord (lame pun intended) here on Paint, you just might get to be an admin someday after all.

IK that I've criticized most of y'all a lot in the past, trying to get y'all to deal with all sorts of problems here on Paint that y'all just ain't interested in dealing with, but you know what? I'm done with all of that from now on.

I'd like to apologize to all of you (especially Nikki) for being so dang argumentative all the time, and quite frankly, I've grown just as sick and tired of it as the rest of y'all probably were a long time ago.

Each and every one of you has done a great deal for Paint over the years, and while I'd obviously still prefer if y'all played a more active role in the community here (rather than just chasing after rulebreakers constantly), at the end of the day that doesn't really matter, so long as people's blogs and polls are consistently getting featured in a timely manner (which is my own responsibility as a blogmin/pollmin), and those who want to feel comfortable enough spending time here on Paint.
(Although I most certainly appreciate Iblis being able to feature blogs and polls when I'm not around to now.)

Without Angela around to maintain order, IDK what the future holds for the adminship of Paint (or the SDKPaint Community Discord server for that matter), and since none of my efforts to push for changes have yielded any positive results anyway, I'm instead going to focus on doing things here myself that IK will actually make a difference to the community, such as what I'm doing now by bringing back Member Appreciation Day and the SDK Quilt.

Anyway, thanks for everything that y'all have done (and continue to do) for Paint. To try to make up all of my whining and complaining in the not-so distant past, I figured the least that I can do is give y'all a heartfelt apology and say "thank you".

Anyway, I'd like y'all to read what Angela said in her 2019 Member Appreciation Day message to her fellow veteran Paint members, a group which includes most of y'all in it:

To members 2012 and prior:
Hard to believe I've known you and this site for almost a decade. We may not know each other personally close but we've seen everything good and bad about this site. The site has improved slowly over the years but it can do better. As long time veterans of this community, it is our job to offer our years of insight to Hull to continue the site for many years to come. Hopefully, we can one day rival popular gaming sites.

Although IDK if Angela still felt the same way that she did back in 2019 later on in her life, she truly believed back then that Paint could "one day rival popular gaming sites", and I personally share this belief.

Fortunately every single person counts with things like this, and so if you want to try to restore the Paint of yesteryear that y'all remember so fondly, or if (like me, or Angela when she wrote that message) you would like to guide Paint towards a brighter future, then the first thing that you can do is try to be an active member of the community here, just like y'all are over on the Discord server.

I understand that the overwhelming majority of you will obviously not want to do this, preferring to leave Paint's golden era as a fond memory for you to carry with you for the rest of your lives (and there's nothing wrong with that), but for those of you who continue to pay attention to events on Paint and who (for whatever reason) don't like what is happening to it RN due to some of the newer members here, please know that the only realistic way of changing the direction that Paint is going in is by trying to refill the void that was created by y'all leaving Paint in the first place, as no amount of permabanning newer members (however mischievous they might be at times) is going to make Paint the way that it was in the past.
(All that will accomplish is ensuring that Paint has no future at all.)

Anyway, enough of my usual preaching of the gospel of Paint, lol!
